Default Magpie ;)
I just thought I would share something. I have lived in a very wooded area for 4 years now. We used to be the only house on the road, now there are 2 across the street.( When they broke ground to build we put in 13 8 foot trees that are now at least 12 foot high by the street for privacy.)

In the 4 years we have been living here we have seen lots of birds, insects ext lol

But this week was the first time I ever saw a Magpie. My husband and I were in the yard, and I heard something makeing a lot of noise in the leaves in the woods. So I tip toed over to the fence lol and started peeking, think hmm has to be a deer or a hedgehog. lol

Instead to my suprise I saw this black bird with gorgeous white markings dancing at a foot of a tree wings spread tail feathers open. I was so excited and amazed lol

I told my husband he said he never saw it, asked my neighbors, they havent seen it.

Then yesterday I was in the back of the yard and heard a bird in the tree so I looked in the woods and about 6 feet in there was the bird! Sitting in the tree singing lol. Again he spread his wings, and tail I felt like he was doing a dance for me showing off his stuff before he flew where I couldnt see anymore lol.

When I saw him I truly felt at peace and connected even though I was excited to see him twice! lol. (or 2 diffrent ones) I have a feeling he is hear to help me along my way

Hello smiles4u,

I made a posting a long time ago elsewhere about Magpies that I thought might be of interest to you in this respect;

They are from the same Family as
Crows and allies (Corvidae)

Magpies seem to be very resourceful scavengers, and predators their challenging, almost arrogant attitude has won them few friends. With its noisy chattering, black-and-white plumage and long tail, there is nothing else quite like the magpie in the UK. When seen close-up its black plumage takes on an altogether more colourful hue with a purplish-blue iridescent sheen to the wing feathers, and a green gloss to the tail. Non-breeding birds will gather together in flocks.

They can be seen across England, Wales and N Ireland, but more localised in Scotland, absent from the Highlands. Seen in a range of habitats from lowland farmland to upland moors.

In certain Quarters(Mostly Rural) they are regarded as pests and shot. I was fascinated and delighted to find one on my patio eating the dog bisacuits I had put out,Yet I am just as likely to find one pecking at road kill.

There are traditions that suggest that the Magpie is an adept theif,attracted to shiny objects, though in my experience their audacity as a theif is more centred upon stealing food.

Superstitions in England have grown up about the Magpie, Many still practice saluting a solitary Magpie accompanied by a greeting of" Good Afternoon or morning Sir" I am not necessary sure of this traditions origin, It do's however seem to have been practiced since time out of mind.

We have a verse surrounding the superstitions surrounding the siting of Magpies.

One for sorrow, two for mirth,
Three for a wedding, four for a birth,
Five for silver, six for gold,
Seven for a secret not to be told.
Eight for heaven, nine for hell,
And ten for the devil's own sel'.

Or more commonly:

One for sorrow, two for joy;
Three for a girl, four for a boy;
Five for silver, six for gold;
Seven for a secret, never to be told;
Eight for a wish, nine for a kiss;
Ten for a bird that's best to miss.

I can think of No other Bird in the British Isles that is so readily seen and yet so incredibly famous.

There is lore that is associated with this particular Bird that stretches way back beyond living memory.

I would like to add this too from a site about animals that speak to us.

Please remember that if this animal is contacting you, it will often be the best resource for teaching you what its lessons are. What I write is only intended to be a guide, it is not absolute, nor is it infallible.

- The magpie teases eagles and other predatory species in front of its magpie friends, in order to win higher status, better mates, and sometimes simply for the risk of it. Magpie represents risk-taking for prestige and daredevilry. It might be time in our jobs or amongst colleages, to take risks in order to win favours. It might also be time to be a bit of a daredevil, and face the fact that sometimes we have to put ourselves on the line around others in order to grow. We can't just take risks when no one's looking.

- The magpie comes into our lives to tell us to focus on our homes, is our home protected? Do we have the luxury of material security? Magpie brings these aspects into focus.

- Magpie is an animal that comes into our lives to tell us that it's okay to have irrational fears. Magpie helps us confront that which we irrationally fear, and does so in a gentle and compassionate manner.

- Magpie, with their dualism of colour and representation in culture as both a good and a bad omen, represent duality and binary opposites. The specific focus on this duality tends to be on a reconciliation of emotional or spiritual opposites. It is time to balance opposing emotions, like anger and compassion, or spiritual opposites, like the mysteries life and death.

- When magpie comes into your life, chances are there are a few wights (spirits) in your life as well. Magpie represents wight-attraction, and might imply a time in your life where you might be more obsessed with faeries, and goblins, or unicorns and dragons, far more often than usual.

- The magpie has long cultural links with witchcraft and many aspects associated with this. In particular, the magpie is associated with omens, prophecy and divination. When magpie comes into your life, it might be time to start strengthening these aspects in your spiritual life, or alternatively it might be time to start paying attention to the omens, dreams and hunches you might be getting.

- Magpie comes into our lives to either represent that part of ourselves that collects and hoards bright shiny thoughts or objects, or to suggest that we might want to start collecting the things we value, instead of leaving them in shopping centres, or in books.

- The magpie is the cunning prophet who comes into our lives in order to help us to use prophecy and divination in ways which are clever and even stealthy. We are able to divine for great personal gain, and the gain of others, with magpie as a totem or a spirit guide.

- Magpie teaches us to take joy in the process of change, to recognise that it is not a laboursome event, but something to look forward to as it will very likely bring a new and exciting nourishment to our spirits, that we would not have had without the change. Let go of the old! Bring in the new! Cries magpie.

- Magpie is an excellent muse for those who are creative with words. In addition to this, magpie - with its complex language of body and vocalisations - represents the significance of voice. It is time to understand the impact of your voice and your speech upon others, and the impact of other people's speech, tone and words on yourself.

- Magpie is a greatly magical creature, and tends to confer spiritual protection upon you once it enters your life.

OMG laura Thank you so MUCH!!! lol
I have no doubt he is here to help me I saw 2 tonight in diffrent sides of the yard Of course hubby was by my sons car looking at the engine, Just as he started walking over ( i was all excited he would get to see them lol) Poof they flew away! We tried to find them again in the woods but couldnt see them just heard them chatting away

I told my husband that I truly feel connected and protected after seeing them. Because I have seen them do there little wing dance more then once I feel that is part of there message

I used to do a lot of dancing when I was younger, clubs, shows, lessons, contests.

One of the things I loved about dancing was that nothing else mattered but dancing. It didnt matter who was around me, or what they thought. I used to go into my own little world where nothing else existed but me and the music.

The first time I saw the magpie he was dancing and spreading his wings out, He really didnt care that I was looking and I was close enough for him to know

I had that same feeling with dancing but It instead of dancing it was Just me and magpie lol.

About week and 1/2 ago right before Zinthar was doing my chakra clearing, I had a very strong experiance with my chakra's.

next week its the magpie

I know there is a definite shift in how my energy is being applied in life.
I had something happen today, that normally would have been very hurtful and upsetting to me. Something that probobly would have lasted 3 or 4 days for me to get over.

You know what? I laughed! Sis knew exactly what she was doing acting like an angle holding a halo in her left and a spear in her right hand trying to cover it with sugar. I wasnt hurt, I actually felt bad for her that she spent so much energy in trying to manipulate the situation so it looks like she was loving and kind in other peoples eyes, while at the same time poking me with the spear lol .
Even hubby was proud of me that It didnt get to me and make me miserable

I told him thank Magpie lol .

Thank you so much I am saveing this post
