Hehehehehe was this ever a struggle for me. I would ask them to come in and hear every one of them talking to me so openly like talking with someone face to face and then argue with them and get confused on what I wanted and what was suppose to happen then just turn them off and block it out.

Now it's easier because we understand each other and it does take a lot of slowing down and relaxing the more you meditate the more they can learn which form of communication is best for you. Laura is right it is a language a language we have forgotten about one in which our ego mind has nothing to do with and in most cases it feels very foreign to us.

Yet when we do follow those simple requests and build that relationship it is the most wonderful and beautiful thing that can be done. They will guide you to what is profound and what you are going to learn from the most for they are forever connected to the Divine to God our Eternal Father who art thou in Heaven.

It is interesting what you had to say about how our free will interferes with the time frame of readings. Makes a lot of sense!!

Hi Lapis,

Many people believe it's their guide communicating with them when in reality it has been their own thoughts. If events turned out differently from what was expected to happen then it is possible you were not connected to a spirit communicator. This is an easy mistake to make particularly when first starting out because we are unsure of what to expect and we lack both practice and discipline to achieve a spirit connection.

To help discipline our mind and improve our connection to spirit we must first learn to quieten our thoughts and build up our energy on a regular basis. This can take a lot longer than we realise or may have been told which is why commitment and persistence is a necessary requisite. Failure to do this will often result in us not clearly receiving the images that spirit use so that we can receive them in our mind.

When receiving an image don't question it or try to analyse it, just say what you see or feel. If it's your imagination you will begin to notice it won't be too long before it dries up. Whereas if it's spirit giving it you you will get more information as the link continues to build stronger giving you more accurate information.

We are responsible for any problems such as misunderstanding or misinterpretation that occur as Spirit often use our mind and life's experience as a frame of reference. Sometimes we may get symbols or people who we do not know so take notice of any sensations or feelings you may experience.

You could also try improving your psychic ability in between doing meditation. Psychometry will provide instant answers - providing the sitter knows the history of the given item -enabling you to learn to distinguish your own mind from those of spirit. Once this has been mastered enough for you to know the difference and build your confidence you can move on to other tools which will further enhance this innate ability.

Wanting a thing unfortunately isn't enough in mediumship, we have to continually work at it to get the best out of it, at least that's been my experience.

How can we be really sure it's our guides/higher self we connect with? Because there was one incident about 18 months ago where my mum and I thought we were speaking to our guides. We'd ask a question, and when the event concerned finally came, the course of events turned out differently to what our guides had said. Whenever I'd try to communicate with my guide about this, I'd hear nothing but silence mentally. What was it we were hearing? If it was our concious mind, how can we get over that?

What can we do to improve the connections, my mum has been told that her guides are bursting to speak to her; but how do you know that it's really them and not your imagination or your concious mind? It's very hard to know the difference.

We've asked our guides for their help, as we so much want this to happen. Some people seem to be able to connect with their guides so easy, and any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

By the way, our portal to communication with them IS our imagination. Why would you make up these "guides"?

You asked them how an event would play out and it went differently. Did you also ask what you should do in the event? How you could make the outcome happen?

You forget that everyone has free will. So if the other people took a different approach, they changed what your guides said with their will. Your guides looked at the situation from that moment you asked. Everyday our destiny is changed.. By taking a right instead of a left.

I trust mine. They are not wrong.. how we RECEIVE the information and interpret it.. can be.. We are human.. They are not anymore. It takes a LOT of practice to get the symbols and visions down to a language. Yes. its a language.
