Reading some of the posts regarding pet animals in some of the threads, prompted me to relate this story.
I was chatting to a friend yesterday, who told me that if it wasn't for her 18mth old dog, she could have been in a bad car accident. She went to take her dog in the car to go to the beach , which was the usual routine for that time of each day, & of course, the dog couldn't wait to go, often reminding her it was time , when she'd be running late. This particular morning, her dog, wouldn't get in the car, & when she went to pick her up, the dog would wriggle very hard to get out of her hands. She thought it odd, but, & just thought she would get on with things, -----within moments, she heard that screeching sound of tyres, then the inevitable bang between two cars. She rushed outside, & on the intersection, 2 cars had collided, if she'd left to go out when she was going to , that could have been her. I don't know if any of you remember the devastation the Tsunami that occured in asia around Phuket area, well in Phuket itself, it was noted how except for fish, not one animal especially domestic ones were killed, they were all found on top of the hill, they'd obviously sensed the impending danger & just took of to somewhere safe. We were all born with this sixth sense, what a pity most of us didn't develope it, & just let it diminsh. |

It is well known that animals have much keener senses to detecting changes in the atmosphere than humans do. Whether this is due to them having psychic abilities i.e. sixth sense, or, because they have a higher sensitivity and react accordingly, is debateable. Afterall animals would need to have a high sensitivity in order for them to survive predators or search for food.
Nonetheless, this shouldn't detract the value or importance towards an animal when they do attempt to warn us of the changes. My own dog, many years ago woke up my son who had been sleeping on the sofa. He didn't notice he had started to have an asthma attack whilst asleep. Thankfully he was able to telephone me to get him to the doctors. The doctor sent for an ambulance and my son was on hospital for 3 or 4 days before getting the all clear. I would hate to think what may have happened had our dog not intervened. He obviously had detected the changes within my son before it was too late for getting help. |
