Awe, bless his little heart. Such a wonderful story of Jack being saved and your sons love for him. I'm sorry he is going through this.......My prayers and thoughts are with your family.
Have you thought about having a talk with him about afterlife and how it may be possible Jack's spirit will help him? I dunno at such an early age it's tuff to find the right words to say to our children and hope they understand but then again they are such smart little souls ![]() Love and blessings |

Awww I totally understand, I used to have pet hampsters and whenever one died I would cry a lot and then get a new one but in the end I had to stop getting them because they never lasted long and my poor emotions couldn't take it.
It's not just a rat it's a pet rat and I know people find it hard to understand but it's just the same as when a pet dog or cat dies. When the time comes maybe you could ask Grant to make a little box to bury the rat in and then do a little memorial service but get Grant to make all the descions about what takes place because it will be the last thing he can do for Jack and in some ways it might help him come to terms with it. |

I'm nearly in tears. I had a rat named Buddy for 8 years. He was one of the coolest pets I have ever owned. I had bought several rats before him (Feeders) that all died within weeks from cancer or illnesses. I was ready to give up and my mom talked me into getting "just one more." Instead of the ones with pretty colors, I went for just a plain gray one. He was amazing and smart and awesome. A pet is a pet, not matter how small or weird they may be. I feel for your son, but really he is at the perfect age to be introduced to death, and it is usually through pets that we learn those hard first lessons.
May Jack's memory live on in your son forever, and I know that he will see him again on the Other Side. |
