Gods I hate the dark, it freaks me out for really no reason at all. The thing I hate the most in the dark are mirrors, really you can't see anything in them at all, it's freaky! Also, I'm still scared of Bloody Mary clawing my eyes out of my head...
I gots to learn some more better defensive magicks or i'll go on like this forever.. I'll probs end up buying a pendant or amulet later on.

With the amused look, that sounds like something a guide or I would have done... Hehehe, I have blue eyes though, so it weren't me from the future or something...

Bloody Mary has caused a lot of people to fear a mirror. They even did a movie about her. But if you fall into that fear trap because of legends and stories that are handed down then you will have to fear breathing and spend your time under your bed shaking and shivering .....

If you equate mirrors strictly with that story then you have chosen to. Do you fear masks because of Freddie or razors because of Jason ...come on...... this is fear of your own making.

Mirrors are wonderful tools of divination.

Yes I had an experience that was not a nice one. And for some reason I cant post it . Have typed it and it will always disappear. I finally figured out it will only feed FEAR and that serves no purpose.

I am of the belief that people only expereince what they chose to in their soul contracts and other things that spirit knows they are able to handle.

Sitting in a dark room with a black mirror has a name and I cant think of it right this minute but it is a good way to connnect with loved ones that have passed over or your higher self or angels. and then add all that Captainstruggler posted above and you can see they are a great divination tool.
I have used them to dispel negative energy and to enhance energy.

Just my thoughts on how this is turning into Bloody mary terror zone lol

I have no fear of mirrors or the dark, have not really had any bad experiences or any with them..

It is amazing what people are scared of and how it effects the way in which you think or behave and also how these fears come about. Such as stories from family/friends or things you have watched on TV etc.

My ex once saw a wolf jumping into his room from a mirror. He hates them and would not have them in the bedroom.

Interesting....

You know I was just as scared of her as you at your age & though i have said those words in the back of mind many times as a kid nothing has ever happened and i have never heard of anything ever happening to someone regarding that story. If you ever get scared just think of god and a white light and you'll be protected. Just invision that bubble of light around you. As you get older you'll see that you're fear will pass too.

i am actually finding it interesting that the fear/aversion to mirrors is such a common thing among us. I always thought i was looney. no one else in my family seems to have a problem with them, and i have never met anyone IRL that admits to it.

I have been trying to overcome my aversion (ie: not turning on the bathroom light in the middle of the night) and now i will look out a dark window and stare into the darkness (wouldn't have done that a year ago)

Off to go look at Sophia's link!

Great topic.

The only fear of mirrors I have is discovering a new grey hair...

A couple of months ago I was planning my new room. I have a meditation/yoga room in our new house. Its such a blessing to have my own space and I was thinking about how I'd like to decorate it.

I thought I'd like to have a small altar - of powerful images to use as tools for opening my mind and reducing resistance.

I did a meditation on what I should have there - and strangely enough, the center piece was a mirror. It shocked me enough to come out of the meditation. A mirror? I thought, well, that's weird.

Then, when I asked a question, 'they' said it was to remind me that the work we do is about the self. Every fear, every resistance is our own resistance. For me (and my students) to remember that we create our selves at every moment and for me to be conscious of choice.

so - I'm looking for the 'right' mirror'.

Default Mirrors
The subject of mirrors has been mentioned several times lately.

How do you all feel about them?
Do you beleive they are portals to other realms???
Do you believe things can enter and leave through them?
Do you beleive ghosts can be seen in them?
Do you beleive they can be used to dispel negative energies????
Do you beleive they are reflections of our true selfs?

Have you had any expereinces with mirrors?????
What old wives tales, have you heard carried down through the ages, and do you beleive they are true??????

I heard Whoopie Goldberg on the VIEW say she has no mirrors in her home that they scare her.
Do they scare you>>>>>

Share your thoughts, fears, tales, and expereinces with us .

I'm scared of dark and mirrors, too. Always turn the lights on everywhere going to the bathroom at night. BTW, where does fear of the dark come from?

I don't have any problems with mirrors. I use them as feng shui tools with spreading or redirecting either positive or negative energy away or towards.

I also find it almost as a divination tool kind of like a crystal ball. I don't sit directly in front of it but off to the side so I can see other areas of the house. I guess you could say like using a candle for a meditation tool. I have heard others that think it's like a portal but for me personally I don't think of it that way. I allow it to be only positive.

Love and blessings and can't wait to see what info. you have to share on this one My curiousity is peaked lol.
