Janie and Dark sun......i have a thought ..not sure if it is plausible but will throw it out here anyway. works with telepathy and remote viewing etc.

The hands have a chakra in the palm of them that its actually another heart chakra . That is why the hands are so powerful.
If you are trying to move things with just your mind . try this instead....

focus on your object........then hold your hands palms forward
set your intent that you wish to move whatever the object is

draw energy into your hands by pulling energy down into them or rubbing them till they are warm and tingly.
then focus your mind and draw your energies into your heart chakra.
pull this energy from your crown down to your mind then down till you get it to your heart chakra......
if you loose focus start again or jsut go up one chakra and refocus and start pulling your energy down again .
when you get to your heart chakra you should feel a twinge or a spin or a tightening ...something......
then holding your hands palms forward toward the object you wish to move send this energy throught your heart chakra not your third eye chakra or crown chakra.
see if you get better results
you should be able to feel your heart chakra pulling outward...if it is strong enough or with time you will almost feel like it is about to pull out of your body.
this will also cause energy to send out of your heart chakras in your palms as well as heart center.
