I am just starting to read. So far, I have only read for my spiritual teacher, and that was pop quiz style !!!!

Any advice for someone who is just getting started?

When you are "eligible" go to the practice den and offer some readings. The more you read, the better you are to fine tune those skills, the easier it becomes to hear Spirit, and the stronger you become. I have found it to be the greatest place to do the same with my abilities. And I guarentee there will be lots of people more than happy to let you read for them!!! Count me in as one of them !!!
You want to be as accurate as possible, but when you are first starting out, you are simply learning to interpret the information given to you, and conqueoring the biggest hurdle of all, learning to trust your guides and overcomeing the fear of being wrong. Let things flow naturally, and the more people you practice on, the more comfortable you become. The people are very supportive regardless. Hope this helps.

Hmm, who's the guy? Is he your spiritual teacher? He feels like he's pushing you towards something. My advice is to also take some time to ground yourself as well. This will help with the "block."

My teacher is female. I have been told that my spirit guide(s) are definately male. I have one pushy male, whom I am trying to "send" away peacefully.

Just re read what she wrote, and think about each point. I'd just be repeating if I wrote anything.

I started doing healings about 11 years ago, but I stopped because I knew I wasn't being guided well enough. Now, with the help of the people on this forum, in just a few short months, I've started to feel my confidence build up - learn some hard lessons about grounding, , Like we all do, and pick myself up again.

I feel like I'm getting stronger all the time. Just got to stick to some basic rules - and that's discipline.

Start a thread and offer some readings. Whatever you desire and the number you desire. If you feel overwhelmed then simply state that you will take no more after x amount. They will and should understand as we are all here to learn and help each other.

No matter how wrong you think you are...you will get feedback and if you hit on only one thing then be excited about it...means you are going further on your path. The more readings you do the better you can interpret what the messages you need to give are and the better you will become.

First and foremost make sure that you learn who your guides are. Only you are the one who can connect with them at the highest levels possible. Have fun and experiment with your new connections and gifts.

pps. you have a female guide starting with L as in Lorena...lorna..something similar. Ask that you find and speak with her...if the name isn't suitable to you then chose a name for her.
