My Grandfather died when i was either really little or before i was born i am not sure anymore. He apparently had a heart attack while he was driving - before he left he told my Gran he would be home soon... and he did go home - i believe (unless it was a familiar spirit) that he continued to stay in the house peacefully for many years - when i first moved in with my gran (also the first time i went to that house i realise someone was there and i always believed it was him. With hindsight i realise it was him and all he wanted was for me to tell my gran that he was there. But she would have thought i was crazy! it started the moment i walked into the house i could hear him breathing and then started hearing him pacing around the bed, then lights would go on (in other rooms) and taps would be go on- when that wasnt obvious enough he made things fall off the counter without knocking things down that were infront of them - when i left the United Kingdom my sister says that all stopped???!!! I tried telling my dad he was there but my dad can sense spirits and has had many encounters (even though he still cons himself into trying not to believe in it) but he said he would know if my grandfather was there and that i was imagining it... so how does he explain the unexplained...
I realise now if they want to get a point across they do try very hard to make it obvious! I get the idea that they also sometimes would like to be acknowleged... and thats all it really is... Golly but if it wasnt him then i must ask who it was? Could it have been something i manifested? I am sure il never be able to tell. But now when i hear a message i do pass it on as quickly as i can. but its usually (luckily for me) only people i was familiar with or someone that who is connected to someone within my current circles. |

Having read some posts here from some of you, who report seeing or communicating with spirits or the departed, I have a question: How much do these experiences resemble those of the television series Ghost Whisperer? It's on Friday evening where I am & involves a young woman who interacts with ghosts, helping them to "cross over". It's fictional of course & until I came here I might have expected the whole concept to be as well. Now I'm not so sure.

I am a medium (talks to ghosts) but I do not physically see the ghosts. In my understanding physically seeing the ghosts like she does is pretty rare. Also hearing ghosts as if the voices were not your own and separate from yourself is pretty rare. Also, you can communicate with spirits telepathically so you do not have to stand there talking out loud to them - but some might anyway just because it is more natural.
But the actual plot lines are pretty exaggerated in that ghosts don't do a lot of what they do on the show (breaking lights, putting messages on computers, etc). Also, in my experience, which may not be common, ghosts are pretty easy to cross over. I was actually very surprised. I even had a stubborn one cross over with very little effort. So I guess much of it isn't true although it is based on a real person and psychics supposedly consult for the show. Just that what seems typical on the show is actually quite rare. |
