guarenteed to put 2 pounds on your hips and a sigh of contentment in your heart.
It's a lot of work but sheer Heaven. Enjoy! 1 box pound cake mix ½ cup water 1 pkg (3 oz) Strawberry Jello ¼ cup seedless strawberry jam Strawberries. hulled and halved ( I use a lot & eat the extra..lol) 1 lemon….Zest the lemon and set aside. 2Tbs of the lemon juice 1 pkg (8ox) cream cheese softened 1/3 cup cold milk 12 oz container of cool whip (thawed) 1 pkg (3.4 ox) cheesecake instant pudding and pie filling 1 kiwi, peeled, sliced and halved Preheat oven 400F Mix pound cake according to box directions. Take 2 9x11 greased cookie sheets (they must have an edge or lip) And pour mix equally in both, bake about 10 mins or until done. Bring water to a boil, add and mix jello then add the jam, mixing until smooth Set aside and save about 2 Tbs of this mixture . Place one of the cakes on the platter you will be serving it on and Pierce the cake with a knife every inch or so then brush on half of the Jello mixture. Trim off about ¼ in of the side of the cake Add the 2 Tbs of jello liquid in a bowl with the strawberries mix so that They are coated ….set a side. In a bowl, mix 2 Tbs of lemon juice with the cream cheese until smooth Then add milk and whisk until smooth. Spoon the Coolwhip over this (do not mix) Sprinkle the cheese cake powdered pudding over the top of the Coolwhip and then Fold the mixture until mixed well (it will become very thick) Take half this mixture putting some in a cake decorators bag ( I use the disposable with A large star tip)..generously spread this on the cake that is on the platter. Trim the edge of the second cake and place on top of the first. Pierce and brush The rest of the jello liquid on the second layer (if the liquid solidified, just warm it up) With the cake decorators bag, pipe a line between the two layers so the middle looks Neat. Then pipe a line outlining the top of the cake. Within the piped border cover the top with the sliced strawberries and kiwi (I usually use only strawberries)..then take the lemom zest and sprinkle over the top. If this does not impress guest, nothing will. The cake presents itself beautifully. |

Currently, I'm starving and was looking online to find some good omelet recipes, I'm tired of my regular omelet but really want it right now. I came across an Orange omelet recipe, I've never had anything like it before. http://recipes.lovetoknow.com/wiki/Orange_Omelet_Recipe
Anyhow, what are your favorite recipes? Please share! And, just for the guys....putting a packet of safeway lasagna in the microwave doesn't count as a recipe.. |
