Well we just got back from vacation and Pamela had literally dozens of orders for her on-line store. Here is the best: She has a "variety" section with old fasioned gadgets and what not. There was a reuqest from a woman who wanted 25 CASES of "Crazy String" and wanted it shipped to Iraq. Before placing an order like this Pam called the woman.

It turns out this is for her son serving in Iraq. They are using this to spray before they walk so that they don't step on implosive devises or trip wires!

So, in additon to just sending the order, we contacted our vendor to see the maximum number we can get and ship to Iraq. Hopefully, we can get more thn the 25 and get them shipped ASAP. So far, our vendor said they were discontinued! But we are still looking!

are you allowed to give out your friends website here? I would like to buy a few cans of Crazy String so you could add it to your shipment to our young men and women in Iraq....

I know Crazy String is inexpensive and that the story of how they are using it in Iraq has become widespread.....many are sending it to their loved ones there.

P.S. Tinkerbell PMed me about this...and..I was thinking If you are willing to send as much as you can, why don't you guys do a press release, I'm sure lots of people would be interested and it would be helpful. You could get the story covered in your local newspaper, it'd benefit all. IMHO.

You could also put it in various classifieds online...you never know what'll happen

And, we could do a group charity here if members are interested...make it a group effort..only good can come out of it...and members can help fundraise or donate

I talked to Mystic about this And, IF one of you (I know you're busy but won't take long and it dosn't have to be a perfect one) could write up a little article outlining the story, (preferably a link to the CNN article as well..easily found via Google News), where they can donate and such, I can move it to the announcement board, sticky it and post it in the Main Page and send a news release. Would bring more exposure and would help a lot.

And, since we're starting our monthly newsletter this month..we can add it to the newsletter as well..

Who's up for it?

Shall I say this, I kind of hope to get back in an hour or two to post something new on the main page?

The reason I don't do it myself is because we'd like to see it come from the group rather than just us..because it'd add more momentum if you posted it than us.

Who's writing the short article for cookies?

Chris, I wrote it up but pm'd it to you as I have never attempted anything like this and would like your input first....tweak it if you think it needs it then, I will post it where you think it should be...or quite honestly, I think that a post from you or Mystic draws more attention than I would. Just take a look at the total viewings on anything Mystic or you post compared to others. but what ever you say is fine with me.

Nah, it'd be more effective coming from you guys..I think and that's what Mystic thinks as well..I mean, it's pretty much given that if there's a sticky..it's been approved by us and there are too many stickies by us...maybe a sticky from a member will gather more attention but..we'll see.

And, your writing is great. Thats all I needed...except I need permission from Marianne to post the contact on the main page and I'd recommend not having the email address there...so a simple contact form will be great..will pm her on that.

But, thanks for it. I truly appreciate it.
