Sad,..I can understand if you are trying to get an emotion across. I think sometimes when people are sad, maybe they feel there will be more of an emphasis or priority on the message or post if they include the icon. I also hate to see anyone sad or suffering. But, when I am experiencing emotions like those, I often come here for much needed feedback. I know in my blog I have included the sad icon,...don't know aobut messaging.
What about the mad icon? Personally, that is one I dont care for seeing on a post. To answer your question, (as usual ![]() Many Blessings~ Marianne |

Hmm, interesting question.
My intuition on this says no. I see where you're coming from, but sadness is really important, and I agree with Marianne, sometimes coming here when you're sad makes you feel better. I think the sad smileys on posts are important and getting rid of them is a little like denying people a range of emotions that it's really important for them to feel, and to let other know they're feeling. I would get rid of these ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Chris: maybe smileys, a users guide? Not everyone uses them the same way, and I guess there is a kind of online etiquette - you know things like DONT WRITE ALL IN CAPS COS YOU LOOK LIKE YOU'RE SHOUTING or don't use sad smileys when you've just not read the rules? Gosh, bet you didn't think this thread would turn into a philosophical discussion Myst? Or maybe that's just why you did it... ![]() |
