[UOTE=chloekttn75;14836]Shelly- what system do you use for measuring temps? In the US we mostly go by Fahrenheit but sometimes Celsius.... Fahrenheit those temps you mentioned would be fairly cold so I'm thinking you are going by Celsius or some other system I don't know about?

Chloekttn[/QUOTE]
We Americans are the only known country to use Fahrenheit temperatures. The rest of the world uses Celicus. So that 48 in Australia translates to about the 90 degree range for Us Americans. The Weather Channel web site will show you your local forcast in Fahrenheit or Celcius and you can then see what that feel like and then from there be able to guessimate what it feels like in Australia or Canada.

I'm on the Southcoast of BC, Canada. We saw -9 yesterday. That is completely unsusual for us. We actually had snow starting on November 25 (which is by the way....FABULOUS!!!) And more on the 27-28th giving us around a foot of snow so far. I hope it stays this way all winter long!!

I know....apparently I'm a little strange when it comes to snow, but it is so much fun!! And we never get enough of it here.

I hope you all enjoy the weather wherever you're at!

How would you like to move to Calgary?
Hey I saw the "mess" the snow created and seriously, I have to say, it wasn't that much snow at all! 3 cm of snow and all schools have snow days? ..we went down to -45C twice last week..
You know it's been really cold when -13 feels comfortably warm to you and you almost think of wearing shorts

The hottest I've seen in my life was 40C in India..I almost died...well, I did have to see a doctor due to major headaches....That's what happens when your temperature fluctuates between extremes...I left Calgary at -23 got to India with +40C...totally messed up my system!

Myrtle Beach, SC. It has been beautiful, in the 70s recently. I grew up in East Tennessee, I miss the mountains, not the cold. The beach is awesome but I could live with out the tourons.

At one time there was an off season there. But now with all the shops and entertainment areas there is no off season. I live about four hours from Mytle Beach and remember one year going there at Thanksgiving.

I would love to move to Calgary!! Mind you....your snow is a completely different thing. -45!!! That my dear.....is insanity!!!

The schools out our way were not closed but I know that most of the Vancouver area schools shut down because of it. I think even Vancouver got more than 3 cm of snow though, and we seriously did get about a foot. I know....sounds pathetic. Nobody here ever really prepares for it though. Usually by the morning the snow has turned to rain and its all washing away.

Most of the population here whines and complains about the weather (doesn't really matter what it's doing) and that pretty much drives me nuts! Maybe another reason why I like when it snows so much....I can tick everyone else off with my merry mood! lol

Here's wishing you get more -13 days!

Isn't that the characteristic of every Canadian though? Imagine how dull Canadian life would be if no one talked about weather...weather whining (along with hockey) is what makes you friends

I haven't been to a canadian city where people didn't talk about weather or hockey

it is so strange over here at the moment,.. this week we had 2 hot days and no wind, then 2 slightly over cast days yet both beautiful mornings and the 4th day was really windy.... then 2 more hot days, now day was coolish and patchy grey yet 2moro will be 35 d and sunny....

im really not looking forward to this summer at all.... last year we reached temp of 48 d ...that was new years too!!! I do love the aussie heat,. but hate it when its sticky HOT

so am i the only Aussie here?
