hello everyone
![]() i've been looking up information about auras and would like to know if any of you have begun to develop the ability to see auras along with the awakening process? i began to see auras about 6 years ago or so, about the same time i felt as if i began to awaken to many of the things we discuss on this forum. i can only see them when i am actually looking for them, and only if i am feeling loving, calm, and relaxed. i see them best when i breathe deeply and gaze at the person i am looking at while almost looking through them. thats when i begin to see colors and a glow around them. i see them best when the person is against a white wall which is at least minimally illuminated. it is such a wonderful thing to see, a reaffirmation of the spirit within and i cannot get enough of looking at them. but it takes a few seconds of deep looking to see them, so usually i have only seen them in people i have truely talked or listened to. often, i do not want to stare at people i do not know(i do not want to make them uncomfortable). i have looked at plants and trees too, and can see a glow around them, but the glow is pretty much colorless to me. i have never really looked at an animal since i am usually not around them. so that brings me to questions, have any of you out there seen them around animals and if so, in colors? what about plants? what kind of experiences have you had with learning to see them? do any of you know what the colors mean if they do mean something? when did you first see an aura? for me i usually don't see really dark colors, usually very pale or clear bright ones, but that could be because i have only looked at people that are comfortable with it. do some of you see them all the time or do you have to look for them like i do? thank you very much in advance! |

hi jehanne,
i can see auras sometimes too. it started a couple of years ago. i have mostly seen my own aura but have seen other peoples auras as well. sometimes its spontaneous and sometimes i have to really "look". i think the best way to see the aura is when the person is naked and standing against a white background (that's what would work best for me) but i haven't found anyone yet who wants to volunteer.:d (except for myself) i would like to practise a lot more. i have seen golden colours, blue, rather vibrant green and purple. once after i did some energy work i saw what looked like a "grid" around my body as well. i tried to find the aura around my dog and did see some very pale blue colours. here is a site about the meanings of the colours of the aura: http://www.reiki-for-holistic-health...rmeanings.html and here's a site i found talking about animal aura colours. http://www.thehealingpoweroflight.com/animal_aura.html i would love to hear if you find other ways to improve seeing the aura. megan |

hello jehanne, yes, i see auras also., similar to the way your describe. in humans, it is easier with a white background and the auras can be 4-6 inches or much wider. i have also seen what appears to be wings on some people and other figures around them.
out in the open, i clearly see the auras around trees and even houses, at the roof level. at night, there is a line i see at times in the sky when i am looking, the trees are also visible at night. their auras are white. as for animals, i will say birds in general, i have seen a full circle around them as they sit on something, watching. this might be a raven, hawk or even one of the smaller birds. but my own pets, not that i can recall, but i have to pay more attention. even the trees, when i stay quiet and still in your mind, i can see a line of light down the trunks of the tree. i have seen a blue shade along with a cloudy white. as for colors, there is alot written on what they mean, the absents of color (darkness) etc., may be an areas to focus specific healing on. anyway, i think we all can see auras, we just have to be aware how they can look and then watch and trust what we are seeing. i know some of my own friends have seen what i see when i introduce what i am seeing, they see it too. thanks for the post. |

hi jehane,
i cant see auras, but i can read them. i have had others tell me ive pinned them spot on - its better for me to read them before i know more of them; because then its hard to discern whats "reading" and what youve already learned. i dont think i have the ability to "see". its almost like my inner eye is blind, and i have to use my "other senses" to know/feel things. ive never seen a ghost; when i meditate its very hard to "see" things; and in meditation i dont recall ever seeing others really. maybe once or twice an outline, but most of the time im alone... no idea whats wrong... |

we all have different skills and abilities and we can all learn more as we go on. i think it must be very beneficial to be able to see other's aura's to be able to understand them more on a spiritual level. i've heard you can use aura's to be able to tell if a person is being truthful as well as being able to identify someone that needs to be healed in some ways (as rhonda said). some things would love clarification on are: what are the best places to see an aura on a person/animal? can you practice on trying to see your own aura? can you see it in a mirror or do you just look at one of your limbs? any insight that anyone can give on how to develop this skill would be very helpful! |

i do not think that anything is wrong aqcherl, it seems to me that you have very good touch feeling abilities, and we all have different skills and abilities and we can all learn more as we go on. i think lots of it has to do with practice, and perhaps some of us have been doing it for many lives. i personally am a very visual based person, i am an artist with a crazy wonderful imagination. most of my skills are in dreams, auras, colors, and visions, all these things are visual. now, i am not yet as skilled in understanding these things i see or interpreting them, but man, can i ever observe i want to learn more about herbs as well. the human race did not really have cancers or diabetes or obesity until the past century really, and thats due to our food being tainted and false drugs. so id like to learn herbs that cure these things. i do have an affinity with the elements, i can get actually kind of entranced by them. i have been practicing casting runes as a divination tool - they call to me. i also make jewelry and would like to etch runic designs such as protection etc in wooden beads. so the more 'guidance' i can receive / be open to, i think it would help me progress and grow further. purple dragon i think it must be very beneficial to be able to see other's aura's to be able to understand them more on a spiritual level. i've heard you can use aura's to be able to tell if a person is being truthful as well as being able to identify someone that needs to be healed in some ways (as rhonda said). i think so as well, but i do know you can read them without seeing them and know if they are being honest that way as well. for me, its the eyes. when they say the eyes are the window to the soul, they are not kidding. i mean until we can learn to actually see the auras. you know... actually, there is one time i 'saw' an aura, but not by my own... it was an episode of ghost hunters when a psychic was reading jason hawes and seemed to be drawing in his aura. they caught it on the infrared. |

about 10 years ago i decided to try to see my aura. i was able (eventually) to do so by looking in a mirror in bright light against a white wall, concentrating on the area just above my shoulders and letting my eyes unfocus. once i saw it, it was easy to find it again on myself and on others. as others here have mentioned, i find it easiest to see someone's aura if they are against a white background and if i have a little time to "stare" at them.
i've also noticed that if i'm looking at my aura and think loving thoughts, the aura grows both in size and in intensity. plants always seem to have clear auras around them. the cat i had 7 years ago had a rainbow aura. auras i've seen around people have been green, purple, blue, and red, depending on the person. hope that's helpful. love and light, whetherwhich |

can you practice on trying to see your own aura?
can you see it in a mirror or do you just look at one of your limbs? i have mostly seen my own aura because i can stare at myself all i want! when i have seen other peoples auras it has usually been around their head when they were sitting against a white wall. and with them it has always spontaneously happened for me. i just looked and it was there. i was in the doctors office the other day and thought i would try to check out peoples auras while waiting but didn't have much luck. i guess i felt like i was staring too much. so mostly i have seen my own. the first time i saw it was in the bath, looking at my feet and hands. and basically i just look along side my leg and i would see it. the trick is to not really focus, (for me anyway) to just let the your vision kind of go a little blurry and not try too hard. with my hands one thing i would do is touch my index fingers (or middle finger) and thumbs of each hand together. then i would try to see the aura in the space between. then i would pull my hands apart and see if the aura grows between them as i pull them apart. i also got in the habit of looking for my aura in the mirror every time i brush my teeth. i just look beside my head. lately i've been looking further out and have seen different colours than what is right close to my body. i have also just stared at my third eye and had my whole face change colour which was kind of trippy.:d i know we have physical, emotional ,mental and spiritual bodies so i don't know if each one has a different colour or not. another tip is to have a light behind you , but not too bright. thanks for bringing up this topic. i am getting keen to try harder to see more auras. megan |

i'm not a good aura viewer. only rarely do i glimpse colors. the smokey inner layer of the etheric body is not that hard. but i have not developed much beyond that. most things with the exception of picking up vibes from the environment i've developed only superficially to prove the point to me. in honesty i don't think this is more than just games. but games are fun too right?
![]() my tips for viewing the aura: pick a white wel lit (don't exagerate) wall. look at a point on the wall, don't strain, don't blur out. just a relaxed view. best places from my experience are the crown of the head or the hands. since you can look at your hand but not your crown. put a hand, palm towards you, fingers slightly separated, up between your eyes and the wall. move the hand around slowly while keeping your eyes fixed on the point. alternatively wriggle your fingers. in ideal conditions most people see the aetheric layer on their first go. this is not the aura but a good beginning point for seeing the aura since it appears as a more dense smokey layer. be carefull to not mistake the eyes natural after effect as an aura. this is why motion is important. just keep moving, changing position don't get stuck unto the "death or roses" stare.. if it doesn't happen in 3 seconds of relaxed viewing then straining isn't going to help. change position, change motion. keep moving. motion also helps because we're apparently better at estimating the shapes of moving objects. sometimes i can see the aura not so much because i see it but because i have this sense of seeing a 3d shape. i've practiced this on teachers back in university. they kept walking around in front of black boards or white boards. how could i resist? ![]() that said, my sufi teacher was a natural aura reader. that's sufficient to make any budding aura reader feel inadequate. ![]() |

i see auras quite often acctually, well i try to do it so thats why i do. i figure if you keep try and practicing the ability will become much quicker. i see when you are loving calm, centered and breathing deep breaths, (taking more prana life energy in) the colors and glow are much easier to see.
i work at a gas station, so i tend to be bored alot, instead of worrying about being bored, i take deep breaths and look at people and objects and try and get a glow or some kind of color. it passes the time and is very interesting. i project a ton though, so if im looking at someone for too long the look around like someone is right behind them when im 40 feet away! haha! |

these are really interesting posts to me! i hadn't thought about auras for a very long time. i used to see them as a child all the time. i wondered if other people saw these things too, but thought it was just my eyes. a very notable person came to my town recently. he has had a lot of contact with ufos and ets and is one of the better known persons on the subject. when i saw him walk on to the stage i had an immediate view of one of the most pronounced auras i had ever seen. it was brilliant and radiated head to toe many inches from his body. that made me take note once again, and now i look for them too.
thanks for bringing this subject back into view! |

that reminds me gary. i once went to see a talk by a tibetan buddhist lama named ole nydal. he is of danish descent and one of the first westeners to spend a really long time with these tibetan buddhists. i was invited by a buddhist friend. the room was crowded and everyone was talking, the man had been stuck in traffic and so we had to wait. but when he entered the room. i felt it. suddenly the whole vibe of the place changed. i swung round and saw him the exact moment he passed through the doors coming in. i did not see like you did, but i felt it, the man was undeniably there. some people are indeed incredible like that
![]() you are blessed to see them so clearly ![]() |

what a beautiful account, ali. your experience of ole nydal's energy was just as profound (and perhaps more so) as my seeing an aura. i suppose we all witness energy in many different forms. whether it be light or sound, or feeling, our sensors are attuned differently. and, i am sure we are capable of far more intuitive experiences than we give ourselves credit for.
thanks for sharing your thoughts on this, ali. you too are blessed to be able to feel one's energy so keenly! gary |
