today, as i leave home for work, a huge dragonfly was perched on the blind shield of the front door. i was stunned at first, because i have never seen such a big, yet beautiful(and healthy, it seemed) insect in a long while. in fact, i can't remember if i ever saw dragonfly in my hometown(bloomington, illinois) at all....
i felt in my mind it meant something. like something big is coming in my life. last weekend i went for a job interview. not that i hate my current one but, i felt stagnant, not moving forward with my life. so when i got the call from the human resource agency, i agreed to go ahead with the interview. i am still waiting for their reply... then my girlfriend in japan showed me the college which specializes in high technology fields such as computer game design, computer programing, robotics, industrial design, and so forth. i was majored in illustrations when i attended college, but i wasn't thinking of going back to learning after i started working on my current job... which is not related to my main interest. ...and i feel the urge pulling me very strongly to this place... i would like to go, i really do, but i am struggling financially right now, so that have to wait a bit longer,... these two may not be related to the symbolism the dragonfly gave me, but i thought i'd share them. love and peace to my brothers and sisters ace |

i forgot to mention that i wrote this because i remember hearing dw's talk about the tarantula freshly dead right in from of him at the radio show...
the way it appeared to me caused me to think that it has significant meaning, especially to myself. ...i did some internet digging and found some nifty things. here are some exempts; "dragonfly symbolism crosses and combines with that of the butterfly and change. the dragonfly symbolizes going past self-created illusions that limit our growing and changing. dragonflies are a symbol of the sense of self that comes with maturity. "the are often represented in japanese paintings, representing new light and joy. to some native americans they are the souls of the dead. faerie stories say that they used to be real dragons." it also says the dragonflies are carriers of news from far away places. living ones bring good ones, while those that are dead are said to have brought bad ones. i have to wonder which "good news" it brought to me? |
