from painting elephants to ingenious crows. also, with all of the talk about the symbolism of crows i thought people would like this video.

this looks like a raven to me....., great video....

they play with me too., i have placed dry cat food out on a column for years and now, when i don't and they want food, they just crow..... until i bring out some. then, move right in once i leave. they don't stop crowing until they get their wish....

it is fun to play and watch

went for a walk with a co-worker and near the end of the walk we saw a owl (originally thought it was a hawk) holding a squirrel in it's talons being chased by two black crows.

all flew into a small groove of trees.

we continued walk and i saw the owl sitting in the tree still holding the squirrel in its' talons. the crows were above the owl on higher branches.

i approached the owl and it dropped the squirrel (obviously not living) to the ground. the owl proceeded to fly away still chased by the bird.

the whole thing really stands out in my mind and i am not sure of the meaning to me about it.

thought i would share some crow encounters that i experienced recently. one day, while driving to work in downtown savannah, ga, a small city with a large number of trees, i noticed a smaller bird (species???) flying after a crow. i'm thinking the second bird was keeping the crow from getting to a nest/eggs.

a day or so later as i left my workplace to conduct some business elsewhere, i noticed the same phenomenon as i was walking to my car. a few blocks away, now driving, i saw the same thing again; apparently the same two birds flying in a path that intersected mine!

the whole thing really stands out in my mind and i am not sure of the meaning to me about it. i echo your sentiments, priestoflight. the vast majority of us here probably don't believe in coincidences, so i am sure there is some message(s) here. this is a case where i think meditating upon these types of experiences would show some insight. perhaps the message will be received subconsciously and not consciously, but nonetheless i believe something powerful is occurring when we simply notice these feathered friends doing their dance of life.

hi

just a "jungian" thought:

i do believe in "coincidences"..."meaningful coincidences!"...pple who don't, say: - it's just a coincidence, meaning it doesn't mean anything but for those who do "chance" is meaningful..

hi everyone,

just a quick follow-up to my post above.

transiten, thanks for pointing out your "jungian" thought. this resonated with me. a while back i read a short introductory book about carl jung's work but am not all that well-versed in his ideas. so, your post just helped me gain a broader perspective on this issue. thanks again!

peace and love,
doug
