Default The meaning of sacrifice...
i see now what is happening. it is millions of "jesus'es" sacrificing themselves for our mother earth. so that we can move on.

all of the blood and saddness we are seeing are powerful souls who are here to show you and me what we are doing.

they are sacrificing themselves to show us that this is not the best way.

they say that you can judge a man's power by how much suffering he can endure. well. suffering is all around us right now. souls who are sacrificing themselves for you.

love. love. love. love. love.

please, love.

it’s something that you posted this…i’ve been thinking about heroes and martyrs. martyr is a greek word meaning witness. hero is also greek meaning offspring of a mortal and a deity. whenever i look at a disabled person or someone suffering, i think what a spiritual giant that person must be to have chosen this situation for incarnation. your post has given me another attribute to add to my list…teacher…thanks.

yes ! and not only disabled people. but also the ones who die of starvation and die of mutilated torture in times of war and famine.

these are not souls who are victims. they are souls who chose to endure this experience to show us truth.

this is the truth of it. feel it. love it. understand it.

lets make changes.

you are a sacrifice.

to your husband/wife, to your kids, to the people you work with, even to the people on the street.

every time you bear your heart, and show truth, you are sacrificing yourself to the betterment of humanity.

just because you sacrifice yourself doesn't mean someone is going to take out your heart and make you die, it means that you are offering your own life so that someone else can learn. and that is it.

i love you all,

foo

no way.
blaspheme sacrifice.
let's just all have a mass suicide and slit our wrists in the name of sacrifice.
screw that, i say sacrifice nothing.
and go for your highest values!!!
if your highest value is love then love!!!!
sacrifice nothing.

this is how i see it.
you want to give love?, you must first have it to give.
you want to give courage?, you must first have it to give.
you want to give money to charities?, you must first have it to give.

what is the opposite of sacrifice?....fullfilment.
seek to become more of that which gives you your gretaest happiness and pleasures.
do not be confused...doing this will not make you a "bad" person.
in fact, it will give you the energy and fuel you need to help others in a more practical and powerful way.
self esteem is the fuel that gets things done...not the lack of it.
if you believe sacrifice is your highest value, then you would give up every morsel of food you have to another until you die, give away your house, give away your clothes....is this not ridiculous?

strive to attain your highest values and in the process bring yourself to a level where you can give more than ever with more resources, energy, genuine happiness.

this is just my view on sacrifice.
please feel free to sacrifice your views in place of mine.
no disrespect intended foosnik, just kind of struck a chord with me.
i truly speak with the best of intentions and love to each and everyone who reads this.

~m^e~,

i feel it is very true that by nourishing ourselves, nourishing our souls, enables us to be better equipped when it comes to nourishing/ loving others.

i also feel it is good when we are angered or motivated by the site of injustice, into doing something about it. it is our responsibility, to move towards a better world of harmony, to stand up and say no more! in non-violent ways of course...when you understand; truly feel and know- the unity between all living beings.

yeah, now i have reread your reply and i think you might be right now. i kind of went off on a twisted sort of tangent.

it doesn't have to be so dark and dreary like what i said. i think i have been way too attracted to the dark side lately and i want to get back in the light.

thanks bro, for reminding me of this. no disrespect taken.

cheers,
foo
