[/i][size="3"]anyone else feeling nudged by the universe to get rid of stuff and travel light. it feels like i am being directed to do this.
does anyone else have a curious compulsion/direction to do anything else right now?

blessings be

i guess i should clarify what i am asking:

i am probably moving in a couple of years; but i'm not refering so much to the thinking process as i am

the direction/knowing we get on a deeper level with the current paradigm shift. (pardon me for making some

assumptions here, david.) it's like when david said he was directed to give up butter. being the lovely

southern boy he is, this giving up of the butter probably has deep psychic scratch marks in it. he may not

know why he has to give up butter but we know those nudges from the universe will come along if we

continue to ignore the direction. does this make sense to anyone?

yep, we've moved up our date to relocate to land and become self-sufficient, from spring 2009 to spring 2008. in the process i expect to purge a lot of our (already admittedly slim) selection of material belongings. most notably, a lot of redundant small appliances. but also many trinkets and such things. i envision a huge moving sale. and it makes me very happy.

i've read (i can't say where, lol) lately that relocation is a theme right now, moving to where we need to be. definitely holds true with the people in my life.

hi addalight,

i am traveling from the southern u.s. to sydney, australia, in 4 weeks. it will be a visit for several months to be with family there. in preparing for the trip, i find myself sifting through my belongings and definitely purging the non-essentials, even though i will be returning to the u.s. within a year due to australian visa restrictions. seldom used clothing and trinkets are long-gone. putting things in storage is an option, but i am more compelled to simplify instead. and i'm planning to travel light, too. maybe this is a trend among wanderers.

by the way, does anyone here live in sydney?
love and light,
nancy

addalight -

originally i had like 2 minutes to respond which is why i only wrote two words...

however, with some more time i am able to respond better to your question.

i would say since around 2000 i have been "driven" to "get out". in other words, i was always looking to move to rural, remote locations. at one point i was very close to packing up and moving to lander, wyoming, but that fell through.

i'll spare you the complete details, but just prior to moving to western nc (in the smoky mountains), i had a choice to move here or san diego, ca. i mean come on, what mid-20's person would choose the mountains over san diego? well, me. as mentioned, i was guided to live in a rural community.

in addition, my "materialistic" addictions have certainly fallen by the way side. in addition to purging "needless stuff", i also really don't buy anything anymore, unless i could classify it as "gear" - outdoor stuff, tools, etc. so, i too am being driven to be more self-sufficient.

i recently "teamed up" with some individuals and we are looking at purchasing land in an even more rural part of western nc - graham county, which is about 60-70% national forest land. time will tell if this comes to fruition, but like others, i am being "urged" to get out, so to speak...

hopefully this made some sense...

art

p.s. - yo chris/lighteye, what happened to the "edit" function?

[? not really certain what you are saying art-email me privately. i don't believe members could ever edit?chris]

chris - i pm'd ya - i was able to edit this post...

i havent had the urge to purge lol. but i have been feeling like i need to stop desiring things because they arent important anymore. in the past i would get something stuck in my head, like a video game system, and obsess over it until finally i gave in and bought it.

for at least the past year, or a little longer, i have had an urge inside of me to move up to oregon(currently in ca). i havent been there since i was 12 and dont remember much about the visit. but i have a strong desire to move to a rural setting up there. so its just me and my trees lol.

are any of you feeling pulled to a certain area?

i can't help but be amazed at all the people that are talking about being urged to move to a rural location. i too have had the urges, for several years now, but i haven't been in a financial situation that would afford me the opportunity to do so. well, that has changed. i will be getting some funds, hopefully in the next few months, but probably within the next six, and will no be able to buy some land. i'm so excited! i am finding myself, though, finding things to diswade me from moving forward with my plan, things like, having to dig a well, buy housing, septic, etc. you know, little thiings like that, but since my intentions aren't to move for several more years, i figure the big thing is to secure the property first, and the rest will fall into place when the time comes.

thanks for listening,
martln
