ok after reading through the gospel of thomas here:
http://www.sacred-texts.com/chr/thomas.htm i found this piece that made me raise an eyebrow: 57) jesus said, "the kingdom of the father is like a man who had [good] seed. his enemy came by night and sowed weeds among the good seed. the man did not allow them to pull up the weeds; he said to them, 'i am afraid that you will go intending to pull up the weeds and pull up the wheat along with them.' for on the day of the harvest the weeds will be plainly visible, and they will be pulled up and burned." |

mat 9:35 and jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
mat 9:36 but when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. mat 9:37 then saith he unto his disciples, the harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; mat 9:38 pray ye therefore the lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest. i got this through stichometry when i was going to take a certain path. especially since the harvest here obviously is related to people and couldn't be mistaken for crops. |

matthew 13;
36then jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field. 37he answered and said unto them, he that soweth the good seed is the son of man; 38the field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; 39the enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. |
