i just finished watching the video seminar and was actually moved to tears by some of it. it is comforting to hear so many of my own experiences (especially the dreams, and other stuff not mentioned, like thinking other peoples thoughts as my own or feeling other peoples feelings as my own) come out of the mouth of someone else. it is so easy to question these kinds of experiences and start to question your own mental stability. my own husband even is at a loss as to how to explain some of the things i've "seen" while meditating and dreamed about. and he's my closest buddy! plus i live in alabama, which is fundamentalist christian central. thinking in any way different from the masses here can make you a bit unpopular. so thank you david for sharing the experiences that have led you to where you are right now. it helps the rest of us out here feel not quite so...well...strange. lots of love, krista

just wanted to say that i heard david through the video posted on youtube, and want to thank him for his words on a comment he made on the secret (book). for some reason i have always had strong feelings against the book, since day 1. checking on myself i want to make sure this is not just a prejudice of mine or something, because at first i did not understand why i had so strong feelings against it.
i think it has to do with it all seeming like a conspiracy..theeee seeeecreeettttt....shhh....with all the glamour of hollywood ...all these images of people attracting success and lots of things, money, all their heart's desire. at the end you get the feeling that if someone is not owner of all these things coming into their life, they are not ok...or something is seriously wrong with them. after they get the things into their lives, on top some brag about what they have, that makes them really important david said a phrase that really hit it, a recipe for "self-indulgence". now that brought clarity as to why i feel rejection towards that book! yes of course positive thinking is essential for a positive life, and to attract positive energy, but there is a difference between that and trying to attract all these things material, asap, as if that where the source of happiness for humankind. houses, and money, and relationships, more and more things...bottom line...maya...illusion....desire is the source of all pain....said buddha this morning when i heard a friend passionately recommending the book to some other ladies, i remembered that phrase .... self-indulgence, and said that, but then everyone looked at me in shock or as if i had pronounced a heresy.. i guess humans have to attract matter as much as they can, to be able to understand that true happiness of spirit is not brought about by things, but by peace of mind. it is good to know i am not the only one that thinks the above. thank you very much. |
