Default Weird OBE?
I'm new here and would like to share my experiences so far. I'm 34 hapily married with a 1.5 year old and have been trying to OBE for about 2 months.
1st experience: 2nd day with the dream journal, fell asleep and woke up somewhere with no walls or ceiling, kind of like in the middle of space. It was me and what felt like 3-4 other people (i did not see them) looking at this incredable scene. I can say we all were just looking awe struck as this played out. Before us was someone like us manipulating this very large (as in tall not fat) female sexual being thing. She was opaque with blue and white energy ribbons glowing in her (very hard to describe) and out of the top of her head were these energy tenticles that buzzed at a very high rate and kind of staightened out as she climaxed. In all my life I could never make this stuff up! I was so amazed i put my hand in her tenticle thingys and it passed through them with the weirdest electricle sensation I have ever felt. The person who was doing this saw me do this and asked if I wanted to try what he was doing. I said (more like thought) no freakin way! and kind of backed away. He laughed and then I woke up with a jolt. I cant say for sure this was an OBE because I didnt consciously sepereate with the buzzing and all, but I have to say I still think about that little episode.

2nd experience: This is week three. Still doing the dream journal although sometimes its hard to remember all my dreams, I'd say I remember 3-4 dreams per week. I woke up with my head in the bathroom sink really hazy and then thinking to myself what the hell am I doing, I must not be awake and then SLAM and a loud CLICK I was back in my body. I woke up to write this down and was a little discombobulated.

3rd experience: Week 6, In reading about OBEs I had always heard that you can start an OBE through a lucid dream. I never really believed this and never thought about trying this method, in fact I have never had a lucid dream. Anyway I was in the middle of a dream and was being chased by a car. I thought well ill just fly away and started flapping my arms. I started flapping harder and harder and suddenly I was back in my bed flapping my astral arms. I thought this is it I'm going to have an OBE! But my god the FEAR! I don't even know what I was scarred of, I didn't feel any melevolent presence or anything like that, just a supreme and utter vulnerableness like a turtle without a shell. This was overwhelming my desire to have an OBE. Then I decided to open my eyes as I realized they were not open and BAM! I saw in the corner of my room a very bright light, now for some reason I was mortified and wanted to be awake and then I was. However I had the weirdest kind of buzzing and fluttering in my chest and head. I got up to go to the bathroom and walk it off and couldn't go back to sleep after that. This strange weird feeling probably lasted 2 hours. How do I get rid of this irrational fear?

Still plugging away at my dream journal. Havn't had an experience in 2 weeks but I have to say the dream journal is the key to OBEs.

Anyway I enjoy reading your experiences, BYE!

Hi biggie.
That's quite a plethora of experiences you have there, very interesting.
I'd classify the first as an inner projection, the second as a false awakening and the last one the beginning of an OBE from a lucid dream. I believe your symptoms were due to all your chakras being activated, and the fear is caused by the feedback all this energy caused on your brain fear centers (in the amygdala). Unfortunately the only way to take of the fear is to keep plugging at it and push through it- understanding that the fear is primordial and just forcing yourself to work through it.

Thanks CFTravler! I just started reading your many experiences, it starts in '05 and looks like there is many more to read.
What the heck is an inner projection? and a false awakaning? did you experience the overwhelming fear too? Its so irrational and i kick myself for wasting the moment. Im still reading your journal but there are a lot of entries so maybe I'll get cought up in a few days!

... and a false awakaning?
A false awakening is what happens when you dream that you awake from sleeping. Usually someone will be really sure they are awake, and actually be dreaming of their morning habits, or something they would normally do in real life after waking up when they actually aren't awake at all. It's like when you have a double or triple dream, I know I have had it a few times, and then you wake up and wonder, ... wait what just happened?

Maybe your realization that you were in fact not awake spurred your sudden awakening from it, where as if you hadn't realized and become aware, it might have continued on like a dream.

As for inner projection, CF will have an answer because I sure don't. I'm a novice at this myself, just knowing some terms and general information from reading excitedly in the past. Welcome to the forums, by the way.

One comment; well, a few- I've been projecting since I was around 8 or 9, but I didn't start consciously projecting (on purpose) until around '04, and I didn't get any control until I did the MAP program, which is when I started documenting my projections.

It's hard to describe what an inner projection is- it's a projection, not an OBE to the etheric, and it's basically a projection to the astral in which you explore your own inner being. Here are a couple of explanations:
First, in MAP:

And,
The astral plane is also the inner world of the human soul —an inner dimension. By "skrying" the magician gazes into this invisible world for knowledge. By using "astral projection," the magician enters this world and interacts with angels, elementals, and other beings. When a magician interacts with the elements and spirits, what he or she is actually doing, is working with those parts or archetypes that exist as a part of his or her own mind or psychic make-up. But there is a Hermetic axiom which states "As above, so Below." These archetypal spirits and beings exist within the mind of the magician, just as they exist on a larger scale within the mind of the divine creator of the universe. To see a change in one is to see a change in the other. http://www.llewellyn.com/encyclopedia/article/54
