Christ is a "Priest of Melchizedek, "a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek" - Psalm 110. That means you don't have to be with Christians to receive Christ's blessings, since the function of the priest is to bestow gifts, in this case "for ever." The protestant reformation underscored that point, namely that no human priest is required. So, if you want what Christ has to offer, ask him.
With regard to groups of practitioners, listen to your own conscience because it knows the truth. Only do things that feel right. If it feels even a little wrong, stop and take another long look before proceeding. Not doubting that little voice inside is real power! |

So, if you want what Christ has to offer, ask him. And for what it's worth, I'm quite unimpressed by organised religion of any kind (though I was raised in it and have stayed with the teachings for many years, discarding them one by one as I went...). Christ, the spirit of Christ Consciousness, if you will, is worth seeking and cultivating. I am positive you don't have to be aligned with any one church or group in order to do that. |
