Default Extracting my astral arm?
I had an experience of extracting my astral arm last night. When I experienced it, it felt completely real, but when it was over, I started doubting I had imagined things, so I'd like to confirm, if what I think happened could have happend like this. It's probably not much of an experience for a pro-I'm still very much at the beginning...

So, when I went to sleep, after doing some energy work, I thought I'd try, if I could induce the vibrations (I'd managed to do so once before, with an overwhelming result). My body felt heavy, and at times, I didn't feel it. I kept tossing and turning for maybe an hour and kept falling half asleep, then waking up again. In one such half sleep, I became lucid, which started off the vibrations (that's the same method that worked for me the first time). I woke up completely and felt the vibrations. I was too scared to attempt to have a full OBE, so I thought I'd experiment a bit. So I think I held my left arm before my face and started moving it to see, if I could extract my astral arm, and, indeed, I saw a white-translucent gel-like mass in the shape of my arm suddenly "lagging behing" my "real" moving arm. I also saw white "fingers" coming out of my fingers, but when I looked at them, they dissolved, almost like smoke. When I say I "looked", I mean with astral sight, because it was dark in the room and I was wearing my sleeping mask. But I got really scared, suddenly (it's all good and well to read about such things, but to experience them is a completely different matter, as I'm sure you know... ), and I turned around in the bed and the vibrations stopped immediately.

But just after all of this happened, I suddenly doubted I could have seen what I saw. I wondered, if you could really extract part of your astral body during the vibrational phase. That's why I thought I'd ask the pros here, if you think it was real from my discription. Thank you!

I'm sure you were projected in place.
It is common to doubt yourself when you project in the middle of a sleep cycle, because the act of projecting, going back to sleep and then waking up, brings more unreality into the recall. But all the symptoms are there, including the 'melting hands' phenomenon, and the way you saw your energy body.

Thanks so much for your answer, CFTraveler! I'm glad to hear it probably was real. It makes sense that I felt it was unreal because of the shifts between waking and being half-sleep. So it seems I have already fully projected, but just haven't floated away from my body? Then I've made more progress than I thought! I think I'll still take it easy for the moment, one step at a time, because I first have to come to terms with this new reality emotionally...

I've still got another, smaller question. I think I managed to extract my arm one time before, but when I did, it seemed like it was dark blue and sparkling. It had the same texture I experienced this time, this gel-like mass.
Yesterday I was thinking that I might have seen part of my aura that other time, which is why I perceived the arm to be blue. Or can the perception of one's astral body be different every time?

I think it can be. I have seen my astral arm as both the 'melty hand' type and also 'ghostly transparent'. It's possible that there is no real 'visual' characteristic to this, and we 'assign' them according to the energetic signature it has, since ultimately we process the information with our brains.
It is true that there are many collective corroborations as to what it's 'supposed to look like', so the case is out about that.

That would make sense. We perceive the astral body in a way we can process, so it's not necessarily how it would look like from a different perspective. Maybe the blue color did have to do with a different energetic make-up at the time. I guess there's not an "objective" way to describe the astral body from our human viewpoint...
Thanks again for your answer!

Well, it happened again last night. I got lucid in a dream again (I notice that both this time and last I was dreaming about a split-personality theme), got the vibrations and woke up.

I concentrated on my arms again, looked at my right arm and suddenly got what at the time seemed to me like x-ray vision! I thought I could suddenly see my bones-they stood out white against a black background. My vision was very clear, even clearer than normal vision. I let it scan my arm back and forth about 2-3 times.

After I ended the vibrations by wriggling my toes (I got frightened again), I thought that it maybe wasn't my bones I saw at all, but my astral arm. I've never heard anything about x-ray vision in combination with an OBE experience. Maybe someone could help me interprete what I saw?

I also waved my left arm in front of my face again, and it was transparent and I saw my fingers melt, so this must have been my astral arm for sure.
