Default Stopped Breathing During OBE !?
Ive had many successful O.B.E.'s in the past, all of them occurring randomly and during sleep paralysis, however the ones Ive had recently have been very distressing as my physical body stops breathing.

I don't usually experience sleep apnea too often but for some reason they seem to occur during the O.B.E., I find that just after I begin to exit my body whilst Im still floating around in my bedroom I get an odd sense that my physical body is under some sort of stress like its being suffocated, I am very comfortable in my OBE spirit body and feel that I can continue to just stay there however I feel that if I don't attend to the threat I'm sensing from my physical body I could end up dying so I shake my self back to a waking state to find that I have intact stopped breathing and soon as I enter back into my body I find myself choking and gasping for air as if id been under water too long without oxygen.

If in fact I hadn't stopped breathing than it would not be physically possible for me to be able inhale such a large breath of air inwards, along with the fact that I do it in a gasping manner as soon as my eyes open. These apnea type incidences have me worried and it has happened the last 3 times upon having an OBE. It ruins the OBE experience as I have to cut it short to attend back to my physical bodies apnea response, any ideas about this?

I've heard of people reporting this, but it hasn't happened to me, even when I'm having multiple OBEs and have more trouble 'getting back in' when I'm finally done with them. I have heard people opine that it is just a perceptual phenomenon, so I'm not sure what to tell you.
Have you ever had other sleep disturbances? I ask because my husband has sleep apnea and never knew it (snores like an angry bear, lol) until I noticed it.
I think it's possible that the state of semiconsciousness that the OBEs give you make you able to observe what's happening when you sleep, while complete unconsciousness masks it, but it's just a supposition.
Have you ever had a sleep study done?

Yes actually I have had a sleep test for apnea bout 7 years ago but I haven't had many apnea incidences since, I have experienced the occasional random central sleep apnea but I only have a few of those a year and when it does happen the discomfort of not breathing actually wakes me up. But with the OBE the apnea didn't happen right away, it happened soon after the vibrational stage as I was exiting, the further I got from my body the more significant it became and it felt like the OBE had some influence in triggering the apnea combined with the fact that I may be a susceptible individual already.

I am really struggling with this problem lately, Its ruined every potential OBE experience Ive had including the one I had last night which was again unsuccessful purely due to the apnea.

I may be scarred for life because of this to never be able to have another OBE as I discovered last night, to have a successful OBE you have to let go of your physical body and not have anything holding you back on your mind, but when you find yourself worried about your breathing or trying to make your physical body take breaths while your in a vibrational state then it just doesnt work.

I have heard people OBE with CPAP machines no problem, there are older threads about this in the forum. Maybe you want to look into one of them or use it if you own one.

If you are laying on back lay on side, none of my biz but smoking ,drink, and some drugs can cause this, excess weight.
I don't seem to AP of late but when I did I would hang around and look at my body to see what it was doing, maybe you could try that, and not sleeping on back.
Try program mind not to stop breathing, I had this before,it cracks me up don't know to breath in or out, in in.

Good luck, try to improve health, some foods might cause this problem also.
