Default Strong vibrations. thats it... HELP
hey, i have been practicing on focusing on my minds eye by placing my index finger in the middel of my eyebrows and pulling my finger back about 3 inches and looking at it then i close my eyes... i lay here for what seems like forever. then i start getting less feeling in my legs and arms. to the point of a discrete buzzing about my whole body. i have been experementing with robert monroes discovery I and i know how to achieve the vibrational state. once in the vibrational state im kind of lost as to whats next. sometimes i see what looks as if stars are rushing towards me and i feel almost weightless. but this lasts for about 2 seconds and then im back in my vibrational state with very faint vibrations. this is as far as i have gotten.

do you have any advice on how to make that state last longer?

any techniques i can try

or if im even close to leaving my body?

Have you tried the energy raising and body loosening exercises before you work on exiting? Creating a sense of physically sinking, allowing gravity to pull you down, both helps to create a stronger trance state more quickly and it counts as a body loosening exercise. Regular energy work at a separate time from your projections helps, too. Then when you have the vibrations and it seems like nothing is working, try the Rope technique to finish getting out.

thanks for the help. what are some good energy raising excersizes? ive tried the rope technique but im never sure if im doing it right. do i just think of a rope and vizualize myself climbing it?

and how close do you think i actually am to achieving my OOBE

Energy Body Expansion

At some point after entering the trance state, you will feel a mild paralysis come over you. This will soon be accompanied by a deepening vibration and a buzzing feeling all over. Hi Nick. I replied to your question in the 'Ask Robert' (linking to his work). You will find many helpful links that don't have to be downloaded.
In it is Robert's complete treatise, a schedule for a practice by Brian Mercer, (who co-wrote Mastering Astral Projection with Robert) and a link to the OBE research and discussions subforum, which have specific information about most of the mentioned topics.
