Default How did you deal with the fear barrier?
Almost every time I get some exit sensations (buzzzing, shift of awareness, partial separation) I will get excited and my heart starts racing. This breaks my relaxed state and ruins everything. Has anybody experienced this? What did you do to cross your fear barrier? I`d love to hear your experiences!

Education goes a long way towards easing your fears. I recommend you read the stickied post "Your First Conscious Projection". In it you will find that most of the symptoms you have are energy related, and not due to anything scary.

IMO, the only way to conquer the fear is to face it full on i.e. just go for it and know that nothing can do you physical harm (well hopefully nothing anway)

Thank you for your replies. The thing is that I have taken quite some effort to educate myself. I read quite a lot online and offline (AD, MAP, Moen, Monroe, Buhlman) and therefore intellectually understand that there is nothing to be afraid of. Still my heart starts racing when I experience exit sensations. This is not the heart chakra becoming more active, I know how that feels. I truly hope I somehow can get through this stage and land my first succesful decent OBE.

But do you feel fear? Because the heart racing isn't necessarily due to fear- excitement is also another reason it may start racing. There are other physiological possibilities, but I'll leave those alone.

Did you ever take your pulse at the wrist afterward?

It`s probably a mix of both excitement and fear. I don`t really know what to do about it, besides educating myself further. Maybe I should do some positive affirmations or something? And no, I have not taken my pulse afterwards yet. I will give that a try!
