Default Up/down does it matter?
i've noticed that whenever i leave my body spontaneously, i always "fall" backwards. as i'm always lying on my back, this feels like a downward motion.
as i've never induced an OBE from a fully awake state intentionally, i've never really tried to do rope, or roll out, or any other methods of getting out...
and when i get back to my body from a lucid dream, with the intention of going OBE, i always just allow myself to fall backwards and out.
i really enjoy the feeling of falling down but feeling completely safe!

i've never exited upwards.
i have gone "up" plenty of times when i'm out, but i'm wondering if anyone reckons there's a difference in where i'm likely to end up, depending on which "direction" i go..?

I have had both up and down. Two months after I did chakra work, I started to have floating up events, where I would become aware myself to be in my bed, and then felt being raised up in the air. At that time, I thought to myself what was going on here, who was doing this to me. But I seemed to know that I was about to float up too, sometimes there was energy gathering in the body, other times, it seemed to be less apparent.

I have also rolled out and didn't fall.

When I felt falling backwards, I seemed to go to another realm.

I am only new to this, so this is just me.

I don't think up or down mean anything from a spatial point of view, but from a subjective point of view it can be an indication of the type of projection you're having- for example, I've had 'down' projections into the earth (making them 'earth' based RTZ projections, yet in the astral I've gone 'backwards' and ended up in a hellplane. At the same time in the RTZ I've gone 'up' and shifted into a higher area of the astral, or to 'inner space'.
I've had 'forward' or 'backward' projections that ended up somewhere in the astral- tunnellike projections.
So my opinion on direction has to be indicative of what the direction means to you, and what you desired to manifest for yourself at the time.

Hi THERE,
The last sections of Mastering Astral Projection describes a bouncing or shifting technique. IE the steam engine, big wheel type of motions.

I also try a sideways type of motion; siding past myself. As I shift positions, I transfer my consciousness to the other self. Sometimes there is 2 others of me. As I slide past, I either change consciousness, or remain in myself, but see myself from the others view.

This transfer of consciousness can get you out; but not always. At least you will be able to see astrally with a quasi seperation. You'll be able to fly. It will most likely be a combo of an ATZ and RTZ.

Got to split.
