Default What convinced you it was not all in your head?
What convinced you that leaving your body was just not all in your head, or are you still debating this with yourself?

From what I´ve seen and experinced with hypnosis and other mind alterating substances that mind is a powerful thing.
You can be believed to experiencing all sorts of fantastical or crazy things.
I´ve had some small success with obe but I can´t say 100% that I believe I leave my body, even though It certainly feels that way.

I´ve read a number of books dealing with OBE and although the descriptions are a joy to read, it could all be unvolentary made up stories from the mind.

What I seek is stories from people that are sharing the obe experience together, or other evidence that suggest we are multi-dimensional.
I want to believe we are more than flesh and bone.

Could you share your experience or post some good links?

There can be experiences that are so real that you realize, if this is just my mind playing a trick, then all of my waking consciousness is a fantasy as well. So maybe all of it, your whole existence, is just a dream. What then? LOL

RTZ OBE is real.

Just learn to do it and then you will know.

The "it's all in your head" argument is just a form of resistance. It isn't helpful and it will just slow you down. Resistance seems to come instinctively and making it go away is just more resistance in a different form - so try not to argue with these thoughts, and instead just watch them. They will stay a while and go away on their own.

What convinced me is Robert Bruce describing the same dimension and having the same things happen to him, the melting hand, etc.

That's when I knew, hey, this is something real that everyone does.

It's not all in your head, because hallucinations are different for people, they are not the same things.

It's just like people seeing the same UFO.

Ditto.

I eventually came to understand that it's all just various forms of illusion, anyway, BUT the bottom line is that just because something is experienced "in your head" doesn't mean it's not valid.

Im by no means an expert but Ill give this a shot. There is a distinct feeling/knowing between it all being in your head and actually being out of body. Phasing is a process that I sometimes do before attempting projection. I believe this is a precurser to initiating an OBE. Phasing in my opinion is in your head. OBE/AP is totally different. I get full body experiences such as smell touch sound and unbelievably clear colorful sight. For example picture yourself going down a rollercoaster hill and the feelings associated with it. The wind on your face, the feeling in your stomach, the noise etc etc. During normal dream sequences I do not have these senses in tact. During my AP/OBE sessions all senses are exagerated to create a very inviting experience. Even when Lucid dreaming these senses are not there. I choose flying around in my AP sessions because of the wonderful awakened senses associated with my experiences. There are many more reasons, but for me this was the deciding factor. Once you get it down and get there a few times (if you havent allready) you will begin to see that it is not at all in your head.
Good luck
I hope this helps

Interesting topic this.
I believe there are roughly, two kinds of people when it comes to this

1) the ones who would rather believe they are insane, than having an OBE experience or any other,
none science proven experience.

2) The ones who would question the experience and through experimentation and study
would gain insight into this exciting field.

I am clearly in group 2, and I will try to answer why I think my OBE's are not some imaginary
thing happening in my head.
As long as I can remember I have been interested in things that couldn't be explained and always
wondered about if there is more to life than meets the eye. I never discarded ideas or views in the
usual stubborn way that many try to when it comes to aspects of life they, or their peers cant explain
in a rational way.

My first OBE was around 5 years ago and it was through my curiosity and the help of the internet that
i first discovered about OBE. I had heard about the subject mentioned before in various books, but
I had seen nothing detailed regarding the matter.
So I enlisted the internet to my aid, and soon found this site and another one, on which I found tutorials
and guides on how to aproach getting out of body.

My first OBE was from being lucid in a dream, I suddenly felt i was dreaming and I got aware of my sleeping body,
while my mind being fully awake. From my reading on the internet, I started to chant, as I had read it could trigger
an obe or energize your energybody. I chanted Ommmm for a brief period of time and suddenly without much warning
or any symptoms I was standing in the bathroom of my parents house.
I was still lucid and had the complete use of my analytic brain, and standing infront of that mirror in the bathroom,
I decided to do a test I had heard mentioned.
I pulled my thumb, to see how the energy body reacted and as described it was pulled out of shape. My test seemed
to follow what I had read, but it was not this that made me "believe" that it wasn't some jedi-mind trick that my mind
was playing with me.

It was the fact that everything was so clear and 100% like being there in your physical body, I had full brain
functions, full sight, body was not solid but all the qualities we know from our daily lives was there.
I was being in that bathroom but I was in another vehiecle.
Some might argue that it might have been a very vivid dream and have every kind of "logical" explanation for it,
but for me experiencing it, there was no denying that it was an obe.

For people not familiar with OBE and who haven't experienced it, it might be hard to grasp, but once you read up
on it and set aside some time to explore and finaly get our of body yourself, you wont be in doubt if it was an obe
or just something in your head.

For me it's the exit.
ESPECIALLY the failed exits.

I've only had success with Robert Bruce's techniques, and most of my exits happen somewhat spontaneously. When you wake up in the middle of the night, completely aware of lying in your bed, and you feel intense and powerful sensations ranging anywhere from vibrations to feeling your head being stretched backward like a rubber band...how can it all be in your head?

It's easy to mistake dreams for physical reality, but I know when I'm IN my body.

My obes are often dreamlike, but conscious exits are indisputable

during my most 'active' (easily OBE in RTZ) time (back int the mid 80's), i was in the US Navy, on Submarines. and when i was underway/deployed, my wife and i both kept journals. we agreed that we would put in any detail about anything that either of us though may have been a bit,, odd,, or 'paranormal'....

i logged all of my OBE/Spririt contact/Remote Viewing, etc that i could remember.

when i would get home, we would 'compare notes'...

upon comparing those notes,,,,,,, there was NO DOUBT as to what had been happening.

the 'funny' part though, was when i would wake up, particularly 'unrested', (as much as possible, i would record how i felt when i woke up in the 'morning' as to if i felt well rested/un-rested, energized, tired, whatever, along with recording anything about dreams/obe memories/remote viewing/ etc) with no memory of OBE, usually corresponded with my wife recording that 'stuff had moved' or 'unexplained noises' had occurred, concurrent with the last two hours of my sleep time (being deployed, my sleep time changed every day, as we ran on an 18 hour 'cycle' vice a 24 hour cycle).

anyway, even if i HAD any doubts about the reality of OBE, that would have elimintated them.

the only real question i had, and still have, and i must say, it's really irrelevent, is
What is the difference, if any, between the concept of OBE, and 'Awareness Expansion/Extension' or 'Remote Awareness',,,, if those terms are even valid.

/rick
