Default projected double's appearance.
a while back, i encountered a friend of mine, while i was OOB.
he looked to me, almost the same as he looks physically, but maybe a little older/slimmer.

my question is - if i "see" someone while out of body, would i see them as I perceive them, or as THEY see themselves?
does our own projection of ourselves translate across to someone else who encounters us?

I only have a related question.

if a person loses a limb, do they need to do energy work with the area around the missing limb? and when they project, are they amputated still, or do they bring the missing limb with them?

Neil, it has been my experience that when we project, we look how we percieve ourselves. Liken it to the way we look in our own dreams. When I have been out of body and encountered someone else out of body, they look like their own idealized (or less than ideal) personal image.

Sleeper, I can't answer the energy work question, but as far as projecting, I think it also has to do with how the person identifies with themselves. Some things change quickly in our minds and some take a long time to sink in. For example, my mother quit smoking the year before I was born. However, she said that for the next 20 years, every time she dreamed of herself she still had a cigarette in her hand. I know that a lot of the dreams we have are really OBEs. And somehow I find it very funny to think of my bible-thumping mother astral projecting with a cigarette. Another example would be my great-grandfather. He had the lower part of his right leg amputated when he was quite elderly. But he spent the last 2 years of his life crying out in pain because it still hurt him, even though it was gone. I somehow think he still identified with having the leg and when he dreamed and projected it was there.

When I view live projectors , the women tend to be rose coloured wearing long gowns and the men are sapphire coloured wearing an outfit like pajamas. The projector might have come out of body while in trance and fully clothed but the energy body has this cookie cutter appearance with their own face and hair style. The woman is blue and water energy in the basal form but the projection is like the negative of a photo and the opposite . Similarly the projection of a male from the red earth basal form projects as blue water .
Hermetically earth is opposite air , and water is opposite fire , so this is curious to me , still .

However when asked to morph into a specific shape ie a blue wolf or a green dragon this is done easily .
And when the projector comes out as higher self the body seems to be buttery yellow energy with a face like the magician .
When the projector comes out of the crown a genie like chartreuse green mini me with their face and a wisp of a tail instead of legs appears .
From the third eye , the projector comes out indigo and assumes a multi coloured angelic form
From the back of the hips , projects the lower self which is often a frightened or angry young inner child .

It seems that the stone from which the magician projects colours it up and affords a particular form of projection but the magician can easily morph into another shape with will , visualisation and intention . As the energy body develops to become stronger , skin coloured projections are afforded and the clothing appears more individual in styling .

Interesting. Maybe this is why we tend to clothe babies in pink and blue- we subconsciously register the perceived aura coloring to augment it.
It kind of reminds me of how the eyes work- we see the color that is reflected at us, which is the only color the object didn't absorb. I always wonder about that.
