I've heared that OBE's become easier to achieve as one grows older, possibly due to the weakening of the hold on the astral double. Has anyone found this to be true from personal experience? ie youve tried to get OBE for a long time but only succeded later on in life.

Children are actually reported to have a big capacity for spontaneous OBEs, which often become less and less when the adolesces.

No, because there is no weakening of the astral double. The astral double is not like a puppet on a string, the astral double is an energetic manifestation of your energy structures which can hold a copy of your consciousness or point of view. So when you get older, at least in my experience, it is harder to maintain a hold on the conscious mind and it's easy to go off into a dream. That's why energy work is so important.
Has anyone found this to be true from personal experience? ie youve tried to get OBE for a long time but only succeded later on in life. What I do believe is that the more practice you get the more you can establish succesful projection techniques, and get to know what works for you, what types of trance you can get and what you can do with them. So what you lack in energy you make up in experience and expertise, if it can be called that. For example, I can now do many other things on the threshold of projection than before because I know what different states feel like, and I can induce some sort of altered state when I need to or want to. But the quality and verifiability of my RTZ experiences are not the same as when I was young. I just don't have the clarity of mind (or the 'gee whiz' factor, either) that I did when younger.

There are advantages and disadvantages of youth and of age . The body declines after it peaks becoming weaker in every capacity except metaphysically and spiritually . Here the light quotient built up from past and current life afford the mystic continued development of prowess . However youth has its advantage too as the link is innocent , and unencumbered by doubts , the memory of Godhead and angels is greater and the child may be closer to God in this manner .
