Default Beginner seeks advice: Was it astral sex or lucid dreaming?
Hello -

I've had a few experiences lately and I don't know what's happening. I believe that I may have been unintentionally astral travelling since I was born, or at least as far back as I can remember as a little girl. It's only recently that I started recognizing it as something I should pay attention to.

I am naturally very intuitive and my clairvoyant abilities have been developing a lot lately as I've been more focused on my spiritual path. These things seem to happen quickly and spontaneously, like I'm opening up to things and those shifts cause higher awareness, etc. I was also attuned to reiki 1 recently.

Anyway, this is about what happened last night (and this has also happened to me in the past): I was dreaming of being with a man that I am in love with, and we had "astral sex". It just happened unintentionally (I think). I'll spare too many details, but I felt what happened in the dream in my physical body and actually climaxed. This didn't happen with a random person, as I said; he's someone that is a soulmate to me and we've been together in past lives (so my intuition says, and so I've been told by other intuitives). Also, before bed I meditated and one of the things I visualized during the meditation was that the he and I were connected with a silver cord through our heart chakras; the vision also brought with it an image of him holding onto his cord tightly with both hands and so I did the same, and then he came toward me to kiss me.

What does this all mean?
Is this lucid dreaming or astral travel?
Will he be aware of what happened?
Will it encourage/strengthen his desire for me?
Is it possible that HE came to ME seeking out this experience with me?
Does this happen alot with soulmates?

There's no way to know for sure what is and what isn't "real" unless you obtain information you didn't have before the experience and this information turns out to be "true."

One thing I would recommend is not to let your dreams tell you what you can and cannot do. The prospect of being able to tell the future using dreams is an interesting one, but I could honestly not think of a better way to become completely passive in life.. If you trust your dreams too much, you'll avoid acting until your dreams allow you to, you will waste your time, and you will get depressed. Don't let it happen to you!

According to my teachers, there are entities in the astral plane that feed on our sexual energy , and this dream you are describing is an example of this. Your subconscious interprets it as sexual intercourse between humans - that is what imagery will be cast into your dream state - your physical body climaxes because you are actually losing energy to this entity. I have been through this myself and the technique to learn is to train yourself to 'wake up' into lucidity when the sexual imagery enters your dreams and then end the exchange immediately. These entities will come back repeatedly once they have established a connection with you. You need to make it very clear that you are not interested in the exchange. I have used some of RBs techniques to show hostility as soon as I became lucid, such as creating fire and sending it out to burn the space around me. Another technique is to become aggressive and immediately demand that the entity that has approached you to feed on your energy reveal itself, speak loudly in the dreamstate that you are not open to these interactions, that anything approaching you with the intent to steal your lifeforce energy (that's what your orgasm is) will be hunted down and destroyed for its hostile act, and so on. You can create your own techniques. Just train yourself to be aware of what is really going on. If you demand the thing reveal itself, you may see it turn from a human dream character into a black shape with many tentacles. You certainly don't want to be having sex with that! : ) Good luck!

Like someone said before, there is no way to tell with certainty what it is, but if you were victimized by a succubus (which is what Pilar is talking about) you would feel exhausted and drained when you get up. That's a surefire way of telling.
Climax can happen with a regular old sex dream, so that's not a sure indication of an attack.
As to whether it's a sex dream or astral projection, only by talking to this person you can find out. Sometimes there's no real distinction between an AP and LD, so I would say consider both the same, since people can AP while asleep.
