Default Why should the physical affect one´s obe experience?
I´ve been reading Buhlmans Journeys beyond the body, and I find his exploring and theory's fascinating.
In his view the human (and animal too) existence and our eartly world we are living in is not the real one, there are many greater planes of existence beyond this one.

If our human self pales in comparison to our other selfs I don´t understand the following:

When we leave our body why are we sometimes low on energy and can´t hardly move, If our astral self is closer to who we really are, why should our
physical bodys affect our obe experience? (had a short obe this morning the made me ponder this thought)
Or is the astral body not high enough on the dimensional plane?

If I were to experience my higher self or even die!!, would these problems related to low energy dissapear, do the human body cloud the experience of experiencing
a higher reality?

I will attempt to answer this, but of course, this is my opinion, and based on my life experiences and beliefs.
The idea that this life is not 'the real one' is not really accurate as expressed- existence is existence and real is subjective. However (and having read his book) this idea comes from the concept of timespace as a measurement, and not an object. In the objective world, there is nothing 'real' because everything that exists is temporal and therefore temporary. So anything that needs to exist in spacetime, will eventually cease to exist- so in the context of the eternal, nothing objective is 'real'. This is what he's talking about in the context of the soul. We exist everywhere, in and out of time, and from the perspective of our Higher Self, or our Soul, or Spirit (depending on your beliefs) we as souls have experienced everything there is to experience- but in this body, in this point in time, our perception is physical. But to our HS this is but a second, but a dream. So the difference between what's 'real' and what's 'illusion' isn't really the same as the meaning of 'real' we give to the physical world.
When we're physical, we usually say 'real' to mean concrete and objective.
WB calls that which is not existent in spacetime 'real', and what exists 'illusion'.
So in this context the meaning of 'real' is completely different, even contrary to conventional semantics.
So why do we need lots of energy to go astral? Well, here are some ideas.
And this is my opinion, and probably not shared by almost anyone here:
When we project, we shift our focus to many of these other ways of existing we have. This is not really the same as saying that we go 'natural', as in free of spacetime. Yes, I do believe we are essentially eternal beings, but it is my opinion that when we project, we are not switching to 'eternal', we are switching to 'another type of the many possible ways of existing that we can experience.' IMO most of these possible ways are temporal, just in a different way than physical.
Or is the astral body not high enough on the dimensional plane? See? That's what I'm talking about. Dimensional planes, astral bodies, these are just ways to describe ways of existing partially. They are not eternal or constant. Anytime that you can change or go somewhere, you are expressing temporality or partiality. If you think of your Higher Self as the Total Self, you'll see that projecting here or there are only things you can do in a certain changeable situation, and as subject to rules and regulations as the physical. The difference is that the rules and regulations are different than physical existence.
If I were to experience my higher self or even die!!, would these problems related to low energy dissapear, do the human body cloud the experience of experiencing
a higher reality? I don't have a real answer to the question, but I don't believe energy or frequency problems cause you to not to have an experience- they cause you to not be able to download the experience into your brain, which is what 'experiencing' is to a human. The truth (or 'my truth', anyway) is that you've seen it and done it, but don't remember.
As to life after death, I don't know or imagine what it is. If death (or the after-body experience) is also a temporary phenomenon, and there is something after that, what that 'something' is is a mystery to me.
But I hope it's fun.

The quality of an OBE is greatly affected by available energy. Damaged, aged, or diseased bodies usually limit ones ability to gather/create energy. The energy is needed to 'power' ones senses and in traditional OBE (including NEW) to create copies of the subtle bodies. Like many other things, they run stronger and better with more power.

Energy is the only thing you must have, if you want to have OBE. But I don´t think, that physical state of body affect quality OBE experiences very much. People, who haven´t arms and legs, who haven´t eyes and they are ill, they can travel too. Astral body is very soft and it hasn´t together with matter very much things or properties.
