from late 17th century French [clair (clear) voyant (seeing)] (From Wikipedia) In other words, Clear-viewing- visual information That.... really doesn't explain enough. Can you see with clairvoyance while your eyes are closed and your blindfolded? Can you see behind you? Do you see images, or just make something of what you sense? Do you see the images in color?

Ok, clairvoyance (clear seeing) is seeing things in your vision screen. In other words, in front of your eyes. Most clairvoyants need to close their eyes to see, but some (I know of one) who has her vision screen superimposed on her regular sight making it more inconvenient and dangerous.
Seeing behind you would be considered 360-degree vision, 'seeing through eyelids' or 'astral vision' and even though it technically could be considered clairvoyance, I don't think that most people think of it that way. Of course this is a matter of opinion- clear seeing is clear seeing. Clairvoyance can be also known as remote-viewing, when what they are looking at is material objects or people at a distance, but clairvoyant mediums will also see subtle bodies and the deceased. Remote viewing and mediumistic clairvoyance is usually in color, but astral sight is usually in either muted shades, or monochromatic, sort of like the way you see with infrared goggles. Blindfolds and eye coverings shouldn't make any difference to clairvoyants, unless they are projecting. Sometimes (and this has happened to me on occassion) when there is bilocation or mind-split effect and both sights (physical and clairvoyant) are superimposed on each other you will have difficulty seeing, but getting away from your body usually cures that. Is this better? |

An excellent resource on clairvoyance is Charles Leadbeater's works, you can find a lot of his books on: http://anandgholap.net/
Keep in mind that he's a theosophist though; the movement is heavily based on hindu/yogic teachings and may not always be as accurate as more recent accounts (most of it was written in the late 19th century/early 20th). |

Clairvoyance means clear seeing and it is one of the clairient senses whcih develops naturally in the brow centre . The brow centre is in the head or moonstone . Like all wheels it begins with a diamond on the ring . The third eye is its diamond but centres on the wheel are like satellites manifesting 1, 2, 4, 8 etc . The ear centres are on the brow centre too .
But clairvoyance can occur in any energy centre . The hands and feet develop a centre called the Eye of Fatima and can be used to see in projection . To develop clairvoyance practice using the third eye which is between the eyes and above the nose in the centre of the forehead . This centre is stiumulated by the pineal gland as well as by the brain and the energy body . Practice in dim light in meditative trance is most effective for development . This can be done after raising energy . sit in dim light sit in throne asana pose open in protection deep breath cleanse raise energy close the physical eyes and exercises like these 1. sit quietly in trance 2. make a psi ball and then watch it grow 3. look at the aura of the fingers 4. look at the aura of a peer 5. use a mirror and examine the aura around your head and shoulders 6 . evoke a teacher and look 7 . project mystically thru the crown of the head to the higher planes 8 . divine with tarot 9. scry with a crystal ball viewtopic.php?t=8257&highlight= esp # 7 and 8 |
