one night i had a vivid dream (nor really fully aware OOB) that i was floating around my ceiling and took a closer look at the smoke detector, when it actually went off, waking up the whole house. after resetting the alarm, going back to sleep and again floating up there it went off again!

was my mind just creating something to go with what was actually happening, or can an astral body really set off a smoke alarm?

It could have been either one.

Sometimes 'time' in the astral is a little quicker than in the physical, so it could have been a fortelling of a very near future event.

Or, it might be that the amount of energy that passed through your smoke detector was what made it go off. Energy can affect things in strange and subtle ways.

I guess next time you decide that you are going to astral travel, you could warn your family that the smoke alarm might go off.

maybe someone with good OBE skills could test this and see if they can set off their smoke alarm too....
