on occasion i have been sleeping, and not necessarily have vivid dreams or consciously OBE'ing when i will hear a very distinct and loud ding sound, like when you hit a water glass with a spoon, and i will wake up that same instant... anybody know what this is or may be... (no, its not the UPS guy at the door, nobody else hears is except me)

It's called astral noise. You will find it in the AD Pedia.

ok, if it is astral noise, whats the sound about? does it mean anything and who is making it?
