Default Why such divergence in experiences?
I wonder why it is that one night I can have the most wonderful, uplifting experience in meditation & half-recalled inspiring lessons in the astral, then only a few night later, have a ghastly, low-level, positively pointless, semi-conscious trip to the office where, semi-aware, I struggled with simple tasks, printed out a series of blotchy "Xmas cards" from New Zealand in French (!) & woke up feeling awful. I really feel "unclean" & somehow "dragged down" - could this be a neg that I have picked up? Do others also have this sort of roller-coaster of high & low experiences? I often feel that I take one step forwards only to slide back twenty feet.. . .

I wouldn't say you're sliding backwards sono, it sounds pretty normal. Energy fluctuates, and that will greatly affect your experiences. Be sure you are regularly filling or recharging your energy storage centers, as Robert Bruce describes it. I have found this extremely important.

Good luck to you.

It may be worth investigating what happens on those low energy days and seeing if you can find any patterns. You may discover that certain things drain you while others build you up. Especially consider what you do just prior to sleep.

I agree, everything moves in cycles. The success in energy work varies over the week, so I'd expect with OBEing. Especially during "growth" spurts it may feel like "two steps ahead, one step back". Then it is surely helpful to be persistent and consistent in all your development activities (meditation, energy work, etc.) and be sure not to overdo them, too.

Take good care,
Oliver
