Default Phasing through walls/floors.
Last night I had another Spontanious OBE. This one came to me easily. I woke up for a moment, roused by the noise of the furnace kicking on, and quickly slipped into the hypogonic state. This part got odd. I felt myself fall asleep almost instantly. I felt my body getting heavy, have a bit of paralysis, and then what seemed like a second after I closed my eyes got increadibly intense vibrations! I was excited. Not scared like I was in my first experience with spontanious OBE's. I know what was happening and had done some energy work before I went to bed that night. Instead of struggling out of my body, I found I was already very "loose" and using what I had learned in "NEW" I "felt" myself lifting out of my body.

I shot forth into the air so quickly in fact, that my energy legs shot out before my head (Last to detach) and I felt myself do a full on BACKFLIP!

After I was free floating, in an Astral instant, I decided to cut the walking up the stairs part and attempted to phase through the ceiling and into the living room just above me...

This failed miserably and I felt stopped.... As if the ceiling was solid. Then I made the mistake of falling... Directly into my body.

This OBE was annoyingly short and unseccesful...

How do I lengthen the time I'm out of my body? And what do I have to do to actually get myself comfortable with going through walls and stuff?

You'll probably find things improve simply because of this experience and then there will be new challenges. Just continue with your MAP practices.

Do what? I don't use the MAP program... Don't own the book

This was a spontanious OBE.

I'm going about AP my way. With focus on energy work and meditation. I'll worry about AP later.

well, as i understand it, there are no limitations in the astral world. and the only reason we woulden't be able to pass through "physical" objects is because subconciously, we dont fully believe we can pass through it. we have some little doubt. i've passed through my ceiling before, and i wasent thinking "oh my gosh im going to pass through the ceiling!" or "what if i cant do it? i can try....." i was neutral, and as i approached the ceiling, it became transparent and i passed through it with no struggle.

It is strictly true that you can do anything in the astral, but it depends what locale you're in and what the freq/density of your energy body is. For example, in an RTZ projection you can go through things because the difference in density to the energetic counterpart of the (walls) are different enough- in other words, like having 'mist' go through a sieve. But if the region of the astral you're in is very similar to the energy body you're using, then it's like trying to go through matter- you can keep trying, but you might as well fly away and go somewhere else.
I have had the experience of OBEing, going to the RTZ, going through the wall, ending somewhere else, and flying through layers (astral planes?) and all of a sudden and unexpectedly ending in a place where I just can't go through stuff, and trying (incredulously) over and over, and getting bounced all over the place. It wasn't a matter of expectation or belief, since I had already been doing it, in fact I was surprised (and mad) that all of a sudden I couldn't do it. Something changed, either the environment, or my e-body. I think it was the environment, but it could have been both.

Just keep trying, you'll get the hang of passing through physical objects eventually. I was the same as you for my first 20 or so obe's, couldn't get out of my bedroom at all because I subconsciously expected everything to be solid like it is physically. If this continues to be a problem maybe try an affirmation like 'I effortlessly pass through all objects while out of body'
I got through this problem just by continued practice. At first it was pretty strange putting my hand through a wall or a glass window and feeling the textures. Almost lost the early experiences because I was worried I may be doing this physically

Just a week or 2 ago , I had 4 OBE's four mornings in a row.. In one of them I wanted to stay in a little longer so I simply told myself,"I want to stay a while"... This worked and the OBE Lasted for a while...

RB also mentions that the more energy you have, the longer and more vivid the OBE will be. he says that if you project and you don't have much energy (you can normally feel it, your astral body may feel weak and your limbs may feel weak and flakey), then you should use tactile imagining and FEEL energy pumping from your physical/etheric body to your astral body. i used this technique once with success. if done correctly, you should feel a strong energy rush or buzz throughout your astral body.
