Default Astral Projection from a dream...or just a lucid dream
....whichever, here it is:
Here is an experience I had a couple of nights ago. I will leave out some details because I ramble enough anyway. I have not been thus far able to produce a full conscious exit. Like most nights, this one was no exception in that before going to bed I did the full body circuit, as well as raise energy, and work each chakra. I didn't spend a ton of time on it. lately just pulling up the energy to the chakra and holding my awareness for a few seconds there, is enough to produce energetic sensations. I tried a projection with the rope technique, and as usual, it produced a kind of shaking sensation as though I were laying on top of a running washing machine. I don't know if these are the famed vibrations or not, but they usually cease as soon as I stop “climbing.”

I had gone to bed early, a little after 8:00 PM. I was unable to project consciously and fell asleep. I woke up around 1 or 2 AM, and not wanting to wake my wife, got up for a while and went back to bed at 4:00, drifting off to sleep. At some point I heard a crashing noise coming from some other part of the apartment. I got up and headed for the door, and as I got to it, it dawned on me that I was out of my body. Now, at this point, I would describe my level of awareness as like that in lucid dreams I have had, except that this experience lasted much longer than any of my lucid dreams. The main difference here being that in a lucid dream, at some point I think “well, what do you know, this is a dream!” but this time it was more of “Well what do you know I am out of my body.” It was very vivid and realistic, and like I said, comparable in clarity to lucid dreams I have had, maybe slightly more so at points.

I decided to pass through the closed door, which I was unable to at first, but I succeeded in going through it backwards. The living room was dark, lit only by the outside patio light and the glow from various DVD and TV related LCDs, clock and what not. Just as it should be. I could see but I wanted more light, so I tried saying “light!” a couple of times but with no success. I started to lose some of my clarity at that point and remembered to look at my hands. Not only did they start to fade away, but unlike how I would have imagined it, sort of star trek beam-me-up style, they begin to shrink as though they were made of wax that had been heated, the fingers becoming skinner and looking kind of freakish. I looked away from them after a couple of seconds.

I proceeded to go into the extra bedroom, which sort of serves as my “den” with my computer, books and an easy chair. Its the one place where I get to say how it is decorated, how the furniture is arranged etc. My wife has full control on all that in the rest of the house. Anyway, I go into that room and there is my brother, and the light is on. Now at this point, I can safely say if I was astral, and in the RTZ, I had departed from it, because my brother lives hundreds of miles away with my parents and would be at home asleep. I didn't think anything strange about this however. I saw that the window was open though, and being paranoid about robbers, I told him he could hang out there as long as he liked but to be sure and shut and lock that window when he left. He said alright.

Now, I thought I would try and find my good friend in Canada. I remember reading in one of Robert's books its hard to spontaneously travel to a place you have never been, but that you can travel to a person you are close to, so I gave it a try. I willed myself to go to my friend, but instead found myself flying in the air, looking down on a grassy, hilly expansive area with a divided highway and a few little stores on the sides. It was daylight, clear blue sky. Nice deep colors. There was also a cube-shaped structure sitting in between the lanes, in the grass, that was the size of a small shed building. All of its visible sides appeared to be painted with a colorful advertisement, or so it looked to me. I don't recall what it said, except that the number “2” was used in between 2 words...as in “got2eat” or “rooms2go”. I thought “this isn't it” so I tried again, and this time found myself flying up to, and descending on a kind of city. I have seen montreal on google earth, and it doesnt look like this. I don't remember seeing any palm trees, but it definitely had a tropical feel to it. There was a deep blue body of water nearby that seemed to be densely packed with what i think were ships. The buildings of the place were close together and of various heights, with thatched pavilions all around and in between with open markets and places to sit. It was almost like someone had taken a large metropolitan mall like you would find in florida (with lots of outdoor bits and restaurants) and thrown in some open-air hotel lobby looking areas for good measure (come to think of it, the architects of Disney World could have made this place, but no rides).

At this point I had to do another hand glance. Seems like I ended up doing 3 in all. Same result every time, the freakish look as they melted.

Well that is enough for now. There were a few things more before the alarm clock brought this to an end, but I will choose here as a stopping place.

I had a similar experience last night. Again, becoming "aware" from a dream state of being "out". Again I tried the hand-glance thing and my hands melted exactly as before. This time was not quiet as vivid though. I found myself in the living area of what appeared to be someone's apartment. It was kind of hazy and "thick" feeling in there. There seemed to be people moving around but despite looking at my hands to stay focused, I lost consciousness and drifted off into dreams.

Can anyone comment here on whether I am just dreaming that i am projecting or if I am "out"? so far I have still not achieved a full conscious projection from a waking state.

I think you got out of your body and missed the exit-the 'crashing noise' was probably the auditory part of your exit, which brought you awareness.
