Default OBE or Dream?
I've been studying and practicing AP techniques (as well as some energy exercises) on and off for awhile now (I know, it should be a steady stream of practice rather than on and off).

I have been studying and trying for maybe three years, with a small amount of success. Though I must admit that since I've started reading RB's book "Astral Dynamics" and doing some energy exercises has increased the amount of lucid dreams that I have.

I guess this post is about the experience I had this weekend. I greatly look forward to my weekends, as I know I can sleep in and I have my best results when I can sleep late and catch myself coming out of sleep.

Just that happened this weekend as I started to feel the vibrations, and felt myself lift out of my body.

But when I looked around it wasn't my room I was in. It was similarly arranged, with the desk on the wall across from me and a window to the left. The desk however, was not the desk that I had in my room. And the window was much larger. I noticed that when I got close to the wall, it was covered in sheets of what looked like math questions and answers. I clearly remember a small graph on one sheet with two points labeled X and Y. At that point I tried to move through the wall behind the desk, and though I could move my hands into it, I found that I couldn't completely get through it. It was the same with the window. I kicked the window open and glided to the street. It looked more like a city street rather than where I am currently staying.

Did I slip into a dream? I clearly remember trying to look at my hands as I seperated from my body and got that sense of them melting. Maybe it was too much for my lehman mind to comprehend and the memories didn't download into my physical consciousness...

Its just that your dream memories will seep into the memories of the OBE experience. So while you probably had an OBE its now more difficult to seperate the memories.

Stay awake at all costs!

I do try, I have a lot of those experiences where I begin with the feeling that I am projecting and soon get lost in a dream like state.

The only difference in the last one was that very strong sense of Duality, it was an odd feeling. It is what eventually broke me up.

My breakthrough this time I think, was that sense of fear that you sometimes get in the beginning, was gone and replaced by a sense of excitement and anticipation. I take that as a good sign of me being ready to fully explore.

I would say that you had an OBE that turned into a dream. There's all kinds of theories as to why that happens- lack of energy, being out too long, reality fluctuations, etc. But they do happen to everyone. About the only piece of advice I can give you is keep doing NEW and any other type of energy work you like, and continue to work on your lucidity. It seems you're already doing everything right.
