I have been practicing seeing peoples aura and all i see is like a white steam coming off them. I am not sure if it is heat escaping their body or if i am seeing aura. The only color is white too. Never been able to see like blue, red, or any of those colors. Is this like what you see when you first start?

If I'm not mistaken I think you're seeing the first layer. With more practice you will be able to see the rest of the layers.

What you're seeing is the first layer, the closest one to the body. I don't know how many more layers there are, I guess somebody that understands a bit more than me would be able to answer you that. I'm new to all of that and I don't even see that white / transparent heat you're describing... yet

But again, with practice, you'll start seeing colors (meaning the other layers).

I've been getting a thin colourless heat haze shimmer layer like that for a few months now. If I switch off my bathroom light (which dims away gradually over the course of about a second) while looking in the mirror after sunset, I usually get a burst of what I presume is the second layer - a 3 inch, very bright coloured corona lasting for the duration of the dimming, and sometimes it hangs around long enough afterwards to watch it follow body motions too. The colour is uniform so far but different on different days, fluorescent marker pen type colours of different strengths depending upon the lights levels.

IMO, if you are seeing the white or colors move along with the body, this is an aura. White is usually seen first, with colors appearing with practice. The number of layers seen can be due to several different things. One is the observer's ability, with more layers seen by the more experienced. Another is that people's colors and the number of layers can change due to any number of things...their mood, their thoughts, their health, and even psychic ability. These are only my personal observations, and that doesn't make them right for anyone else but me. Different people will tell you different things, so test it all out for yourself. You can use you for a great test subject.

you have described it perfectly this white steam is the first layer.....it's all i can see as of now also......if you keep looking the white will become pearl white with a shimmer of a color...from there the colors will become more and more vivid with practice........im glad you are learning to see the crisp clarity of aura first rather then the blurred haze around a person......i find that the true beauty if in the clarity of the mist method. One of my friends can see my aura and its colors but he only sees my color as a glow around me, he cannot see the actualy movement in the mist and the flowing streams of it.

i thought id post this here instead of starting a new thread

in high school i had read the book "the celestine prophecy" which in one of the chapters it teaches how to see the aura. i was having a little bit of success, seeing the white on people and a little green and yellow around plants.
i was hanging out with a good friend and was explaining to him what the book said and as soon as i told him he immediatly started to see colorful auras ( i must admit i was a little jealous).
within a year he had gone off to boot camp for the us marines and when i spoke with him later on he said he had stopped seeing auras. he said the last one he saw was a huge angry red aura on a drill instructor who was yelling at him.

This is really cool. I have been practicing seeing aura every now and then. I have gotten pretty good at it and now can turn it on like a switch. But the only thing is, I can only see the same old white steam and not the colors. I guess I will just have to keep practicing to get to see the colors.
