Default The fear held me back Argggg
Man I passed up a golden opportunity. Last night got up to hit the washroom and stumbled back to bed. Laid down comfortably and was very much still relaxed. I imagined running down a road and quickly remembered the dream prior to my washroom break. Suddenly. !boom! i had a huge surge of energy from my body ruch to my head very fast and very loud and alarming. I had this happen once before which was an extremly stable lucid OBE. This time I kind of was not prepared for it and did feel scared,,,, kind of blew it. What a waste . Oh well some progress anyways.

i think i know what you are talking about.

i had the same problem for weeks just hearing the really loud sound and not letting it expand into an OBE because i was afraid.

so one night i just forgot the fear and let it happen and BAM! the sound stopped and i felt wide awake and my mind was extremely clear (more clear than in my waking life usually). so i just did the roll over technique and there i was, having a full out OBE.

it really does make you regret the times you gave up (at least for me) so i suggest taking advantage of it next time. After you do it just once all the fear is gone.

Hi , thanks for the reply. I have done it a bunch of times but not for a while. Also only 1 time that was this powerful.

In the past I have got vibes and relaxed with that then rolled out. More time to adjust and not as intense. The more intense perhaps the more clear. This was like lightning pop right in my head.

Hi Paul,

I know how frustrating it can be.

After 4 months of no activity whatsoever, last night I got sleep paralysis and managed to float out of my body. Only to let myself get too scared and quickly return.

Boooo!

I wish you luck next time. To help conquer my fear, I have adopted a mantra to use in all situations everyday and night: "What is the boldest thing I could do in this moment?".

I'm hoping it will help me overcome fear as an obstacle to projecting.

I never used to have fear when OBE'ing; it is only since coming across a shadow like figure whilst I was out that I have become scared.

Heh , ya thats a shame. You kick yourself when you wake up. I am getting back into shape now. I had a semi OBE last night. except when I rolled out of my body I was in my old house....maybe it was a lucid dream? Anyways things are happening again after a couple month dry spell.

That happens a lot to me. I do think it's Astral Projection, just to your old house.
Someone once here mentioned there being some sort of theory about why so many people AP to their old house, but he never said what the explanation was supposed to be.

Thats very interesting. I have had a couple experiences which I swear was a projection but was in my old house. Weird. Strange that it appears to be a common occurence.
