Default Physical barriers while in astral form?
I tried unsuccessfully to travel astrally while laying on my back. I find it much harder to lift out of my body in this position, the vibrations are much worse. On my side, the vibrations are easier to bear and do not jar the teeth and the ears quite as hard. Also, I find that it is easier if I firmly state my intentions to travel astrally and ask the Goddess for assistance. (Side note, when I was younger and in fear I used to pray to the traditional God of my upbringing. Now it is instinct to call out to the Goddess. I find this to be a strong statement of where and how my spirituality is growing.)

As I rolled forward and out, I once again found myself floating out the front door. Why do I do this? I tried to put my had through the door to see if I could just go through the door, but I found the experience uncomfortable. I found it easier to open the door a crack, but sailed through the glass storm door with ease.

Does anyone else find this to be true? This also does not seem to be a problem outside of my house. Is this because my home is my protector and I need it to be solid? Is it the result of the great many protections and shields that I have set on my house to prevent others from entering astrally or otherwise?

Aunt Clair (a very experienced traveler) says that it is easier for women to project from lying on the right side or lying on stomach. Opposite for men. It seems to be true for me. Robert thinks it's easier to project while sitting up in a chair. Something about it being easier to fall forward.

I have an easier time going out windows than doors. Walls are a real trip. I can feel a lot of texture and tension going through them. Gotten my head stuck in them a couple of times. I think it has to do with our human perception of how hard it would be to move through certain things. If you can get past that perception, and believe everything is easy to go through, then, you should have no problems doing it. The hard part is getting past our beliefs.

Thanks. I find it easier lying on my left side, but I think that is because that is the side closest to getting out of the bed. My dog is on the other side!

I did get the impression I could go through the door, but it was just more comfortable opening it a crack. I wonder if anyone has seen the door open?
