Default Optical Illusions
Hey guys,

This may turn out to be a silly question, but I thought it'd be worth asking anyway. I'm just curious if it's normal to play around with optical effects and if this has any practicle uses. Simple things like playing around with rays of light emanating from lamps and such, observing particles of dust floating in the air (when you normally can't see them) and displacing objects (visually) to changing colours (red to green to blue, illuminating, darkening), making the walls and floor move like water and so on.

I can see it as having some practicle uses in viewing auras, but otherwise...it's just a fun tool to escape boredom.

Let me know what you think.

Well, I find that the playing with color-changing light is a form of meditation and useful for cultivating visualization, and playing with moving lights and other stuff like that when I was young helped recognize astral sight. Of course, it beats being bored.

Thanks for the info, up to now, I can only really feel energy. I think it would be useful to be able to see them as well, you know, make more senses aware of the presence (or more sensitive) to energy. I'm guessing that the same methods in seeing auras is used while playing around with my sight.

I have another question which isn't relative, but I'm starting to get annoyed that I need to post something new everytime I have a small question to clarify something. Anyway, I've been working on focus, trance and energy raising almost daily now. I started opening major chakra's a while ago, but I've been noticing hightened sensitivity, I'm assuming this is normal. What I'm confused about is that when I opened my navel chakra, there was a deep burning sensation in the form of a circle revolving around the belly button. Simple things like twitching turned into deep overwhelming pulsations and it felt much like someone was twisting a hot glass cup on my stomach. Since then, depending on the level of energy raising, that sensation returns...but not as intense as the first time.
I'm wondering mostly if this is just normal symptoms of opening chakras.

And, I apologise that I post alot of these beginner threads all the time. I figure once these things are a normal occurance in my life that I won't be worrying about simple things every step I take.

Don't worry about the tyro questions - there are those like me who find them fascinating as I haven't gotten anywhere on the scale yet. Seeing such questions gives me a wider view of what sort of things may be in store & a better indication of what may or may not be part of things.

And I haven't noticed anyone getting p'd off at you asking so i'd say don't worry about it.

tyro?
Yeah, I don't usually wait till people get annoyed enough to say something. I mostly rely on me being annoyed at myself first as an indication...if that makes any sense.

Hi Plumes. That's what we're here for. It's better than breaking up (or causing, in my experience) debates. . Anyway, as to your question: I started opening major chakra's a while ago, but I've been noticing hightened sensitivity, I'm assuming this is normal. It's something that happens, and I have a theory. Although I don't always feel temperature, with me it's more like buzz/pulsation, I do feel the circle thing in my heart chakra, from day 1, not as strong, but it comes and goes in strength. However, I don't think mine is 'open', since I'm not exactly a lovey-dovey person, so maybe it's an indication that it needs to be worked more? (Maybe, maybe not...) but is it your navel chakra as in the sex (sacral) area or the energy storage center (lower tan tien, sub-navel chakra)? If your feeling is in the subnavel area (which is my first impression), then you are having energy issues (not enough?) or need to balance it? Do you have things in your life that indicate this? I'm a big fan of looking at my life to see what's reflected in the energetic body. Think about this and let me know what you think about it.
If it is the sacral chakra, then maybe you have to look at these types of issues: creativity, your feminine side, the water element, emotionalism- you get the idea.

It's hard to state anything really because there are so many systems to chakras...but if this helps, it's the second largest one (largest being the crown) right below the heart chakra. The two others below it I don't have much if any problems with them, same with the crown and brow. The only two that have problems doing anything is the throat and heart chakras, but I'm not too worried about it because I think it's related to health problems considering I'm a recovering tobacco addict. My only real worry is the chakra residing around the stomach because it seems to be hypersensitive for some reason. But, I don't know if it's hypersensitive or just developing at greater speed than the others. Either way, I find it very strange and I wonder why that is.

Hello Plumes.Gris

But, I don't know if it's hypersensitive or just developing at greater speed than the others. Either way, I find it very strange and I wonder why that is. something about speed and chakras. when a chakra is needing energy it means its speed reduced, thus reducing it`s brightness. But each colour has a limit to its frequencies. the frequency of red is the lowest and the purple Top one the highest frequency. each one of those has a specific speed. So you will never have an orange colour change its frequency and remaining orange. ok? if it changes means that it wil change into a neighbouring colour, either red, or yellow, but by the law of belongingness it will move there. or you have to help it move ( this is called to balance out the chakras)

All chakras should be balanced as much as possible otherwise the rainbow of your inner sky wil be deformed somehow and not very healthy promoting holes through which your enegy will be prone to draining out alone or by "vampires".
The only two that have problems doing anything is the throat and heart chakras, but I'm not too worried about it because I think it's related to health problems considering I'm a recovering tobacco addict. lack of colour in the throat area besides meaning sickness (like in tobacco or flu ), also means that you are lacking true communication towards a topic or a person. Also could be an indicator of you being shy to speak out your ideas generally, etc...
I would advise you to try transferring some excess of you orange chakra to your throat, moving progressively up through the rest of the chakras on the way up to the throat. leave some in the heart and then in the throat chakra.
I was advised once never to leave chakras open after balancing them out. One must open them, balance and then close up again.
