Default OOB Hospital Sleep Study
OOB HOSPITAL SLEEP STUDY .......Last Thursday, October 26th, this writer went into the hospital for a sleep study due to my horrendous insomnia. I arrived @ 8pm and was escorted to a beautiful room not unlike a fancy hotel room(through an office). I didn't get to see anything but the room I was in and had no idea of what the rest of the sleep lab looked like. By 10:30pm I was "wired for sound", literally. There were numerous electrodes implanted on my head, face and chest. There were two cameras trained on me and all I had to do was speak aloud and my sleep technician spoke to me immediately. I went to sleep about 1:30 am I was later told when I woke @ 5am @ which point the sleep technician promptly came in my room telling me I went through "all the phases " REM-alpha, beta, delta, theta, etc. according to the hospital's technology. I then asked her if there were a bunch of rooms through the door she just entered, with one room down the hall with a big number "5" stamped in black on it. She looked rattled and asked me how I could have possibly have known that since I had not left the room. I then told her that I had indeed left the room-just without my body-and explored the sleep lab......she was insistent asking me, "How did you do that?" I then explained OOB as best to her as I could. She then said she was going to write it up in her report to the three doctors I am currently seeing.....HA HA I REALLY look foreward to seeing them all again this month-especially the neurologist who I know thinks I am crazy!!!!! Blessings, myhoran

nice one. What else did you see apart from the door with the number 5 stamped on it?

Awesome story! Look forward to hearing how this one turns out if there's any follow-up. Though as a sidenote I've always thought that if I didn't have insomnia before, trying to sleep somewhere with electrodes stuck all over myself while under heavy surveillance, would give me insomnia, fo' sho'.

Good idea, phg. You've every right to your medical records so it shouldn't be a problem getting hold of them.

Hello to those who are interested in my last post. Went to see the neurologist a few days ago who purportedly is reknowned in his field. He showed me a graph of my sleep study which surprised me. Having gone through the phases of sleep starting @1:30AM-5:30AM the graph showed normal sequencing until 3AM @ which point it became enormously large almost covering the page until 4:30AM when it subsided into a normal rhythm again. @ this point he told me they had me on tape running wildly in my bed! He also read what the technicians wrote about my being OOB and describing the number "5" on the door. He then whipped out his script pad and wrote me a prescription for a new drug called "Requip" which is used for restless leg syndrome. I asked him if he thought the drug would restrain me from going OOB and he said, "That remains to be seen". He then told me he was booking me for ANOTHER sleep study in January! Gotta go;@ work now. God Bless myhoran Addendum ;the drug has not affected my oob experiences.
