hi,
i became conscious this morning and felt as though my body was being "sucked" in by paralysis or trance. Anyone felt this? Is it trance or paralysis? I know according R Bruce paralysis means you're already having an obe, this leads me to assume it was a trance. I knew that something along those lines was happening since I've been practicing NEW for over 3 months and I allowed it to take me over, and then I wholeheartedly went for the exit. My memory is then of a strange apartment and I was flying up through the ceiling into other rooms in an attempt to get outside and fly around. I know I was totally conscious/aware of what was happening, but why was I in a strange building and going through these rooms and not into the sky? Was my physical mind dreaming while my ethereal body was projecting? Any insight would be great!

I have never heard this. According to Robert (and others) you project every night when you sleep, but being paralyzed doesn't mean you're having an obe, it is an excellent chance to try to get out of body because the mind awake-body asleep is the perfect state to try an exit technique. However other conditions have to be in place for you to be able to get out.

In other words: You could have started projecting, but your dreaming mind took over and you went into a dreamscape, or you astral projected directly into someone else's house. Did you have the specific memory of floating away out of your body, bilocating, and then going somewhere else, or did you just merge directly into the scape, without consciousness of your body?

thanks for reply CFTraveler! I have no recollection of floating away from my body, I merged directly w/ the other scape. The experience also felt very dreamlike, after the "sucking down" feeling and exit attempt that is. Does this tell you something else about it?

I get the impression you phased into the astral or a dreamscape (some don't think there is any distinction). The sucking you describe reminds me of one of the few times in my life that I have phased, and it felt precisely that way, or as if I was magnetically drawn into the mindscape (just throwing terms out there).
