Default Relaxing my eyes...
I'm still busy with the preflight checklist of Robert before taking off into the Astral. But I wasn't sure where to post, so this may or may not be the correct forum.

Anyway, on daily basis I do the mobile awareness excersises amongst other things. However, in his AD book, he points out to not use the eyes to point out the areas. My main problem here is that my eye automaticly follow my awareness. Mainly because I've been meditating 1.5 years using that fashion.

Today I tried to stop my eyes from moving around, and to say the least, it's very uncomfortable. And since I tried to stop my eyes from following my awareness around, I somehow focus my attention on my eyes all the sudden. Needles to say, the muscles in my eyes are starting to feel sore.

So, I need some proper tips on how to relax my eyes and put them in a position so they don't bother me.

I had a similar problem when I started, and Brian told me to do the exercises with my eyes open- I did, and after a few sessions was able to break my eyes of that habit. Focus your eyes on something, keep them there, and proceed with your exercises. It seems weird, but it works, and it's easier than it sounds.

The onset of hypnogogia is marked by a decrease in eye movements. I wouldn't worry about it too much. It's my opinion that this is a tactic employed to encourage the onset of such a state. Maybe some subtle suggestions may help.

First of all: Does it really matter if I move my eyes subtly? I noticed I do it less than I did before, so it's getting better.

If it's a pro, I'll do em with my eyes open, just have to remember to keep them watching goggles on.

Someone posted a technique on Astral Pulse where you "blink in reverse" -- keep your eyes closed, and open them for half a second every 5-10 seconds. For some reason, this is a great way to relax the eyes.

It bothered me, so I ended up doing it with my eyes open, but then I have an easily overworked brow chakra, so I try to not do much in that area.

I had this issue, too. I didn't try any special techniques, mostly because I didn't know they existed, and it went away on its own after several months. If I had known, though, I'd have definitely tried these techniques so I encourage you to do so!

I had another problem once with my eyes rolling back in my head. I asked Robert Bruce and he said that it was probably because my eyes weren't relaxed enough. He suggested that I practice the third eye gaze (I think that's what it's called anyway), where you turn your eyes towards your brow chakra, almost like looking upwards with crossed-eyes. He said that might help stretch and relax the muscles. It didn't help with my particular problem, but perhaps it could help you.

The inverse blinking method works pretty awesome, it worked out pretty well today.

Except, I fell asleep(I like to do my exercises on bed, because we don't have a comfortable chair to sit relaxed in) and woke up from my own snorring. Next time I'll put my head in a different position so I won't snore.
