Ok, so last night I had the 1st bit of progress Iv had in ages. The closest iv ever got to exitin is just being in SP, but i bottled it coz i heard zombies groanin haha
So anyway heres what happened. Of late i have been tryin to fall asleep on my back, as this is when i am most likly to get SP. I normally cant fall asleep on my back and end up turning onto my side. But last night i must have been extra tired of somethin. So anyway, i mustv drifted off a bit, and then i came around just in time to feel the sinking sensations usually associated with SP. I thought to myself, ok here we go. Then I started to feel my arms raising. Im not sure if i had my eyes open or i was seein thru my eyelids, but i could see the little red light on my tv. I tried to move my right arm to left, which i managed, but it felt like i was moving thru treacle. I tried look at it, but it was too dark. OK, heres where its gets weird. After movin my arms around for a bit, i got the sensation that i was lying face flat on the floor. I tried moving, and managed to kinda drag myself sideways (a bit like a snake). The weird thing was, I distinctly remember the surface feeling like lino. I felt the friction and heard the screetchin that one would expect when human skin rubs across lino. BTW, we havent got any lono in our house so that was kinda bizzare!!! Anyway, then i woke up, and i couldnt get back to sleep again coz i was so freakin excited. So i just wanted to share that with you guys, and would love to hear if anyone has had any similar experiences, and would love to hear any comments or tips. Cheers Rich |

That reminds me of the time I projected and floated super fast to my living room, then all of a sudden I was in this strange jungle of maroon and dark green, I felt like an ant in the grass, when i returned to my physical body I realized I flew into my carpet in the living room and was stuck in the carpet fibers, it was amazing how tiny I must have been to be stuck in carpet fibers, and have the perspective of an ant!

And christine's post reminds me on how once I projected in the morning and found myself trapped in this very bright room made of wicker. When I came back (I escaped the wicker room and roamed around after a while) I looked up at the ceiling in my room and realized that the 'wicker room' was one part of an overhead ceiling fan which was made of wicker. Which got me to thinking that I must have been tiny to get trapped with that perspective. But the sun was hitting it just right.
Recently the ceiling fan has been replaced with a small crystal chandelier- I can't wait to get trapped in the glass part- that has to be cool. But I haven't done it yet. |

Interesting stuff. These are the first accounts iv read where people have reported being "small". I always thought that you just remained a similar size to your physical body, but apparently not.
So have you guys had any projections where youve just been normal size or are you always smaller so to speak???? |

I actually never knew or was aware of what size I am in an OBE. The carpet experience was the only time I was able to get an idea of my size.
It does make me wonder if that perhaps is the general size we all are in astral, especially after hearing CFtravlers experience being caught in the fan. It was so similar to mine. |

Your experience reminded me that almost all of my exits (they are not that many) starts with my hands. I have a hard time exiting in any other way. It starts with me waving with my arms. And then I use the arms in one way or another to exit. One time I used the rope-climbing-technique, some times I drag my self out (like you on the floor), some times I pull them backwards and just push myself out. It is good to get the hands out, they are useful!

A projector is a point of consciousness with no actual size or shape. Being trapped in the carpet pile or in the wicker of the ceiling fan sounds similar to what Robert Bruce calls virtual reality projection. In a VR projection, you project and then gradually approach a lit painting, and the pin-point size of your actual projected self combined with the impression which the painting makes on your sub-conscious mind creates a world out of the scenery of the painting. Normally, things in a painting naturally look smaller than real life, but while projecting in this manner, in sounds like one ends up feeling just the right size or even much smaller than the things depicted in the painting. For regions beyond the background or boundaries, or before the foreground, it seems that your sub-conscious mind fills in the details to create a compelling, coherent world. This would be just like the impression that the carpet pile was a jungle, etc. This is all very fascinating stuff to me; I am eager to be exploring it first-hand. |

I had my first concious projection the other night, and it went very similar to yours. I usually wake just after dozing off, already separated from my body, and feel little to no exit symptoms. I just float right out without much effort. I have also tried very hard to conciously project, most of the time I feel the heavy energy sensations (almost like I am dying it is so intense) and start to feel a strong "pull" upward. I try to go with it, but it just stops at some point or I get so excited I come out of the trance type state. Last night the same thing happened, but I kept pushing it, I felt like I was suffocating, but I kept at it until I felt a physical jolt, or "pop" and suddenly my legs were out of my body, and just floating around. I was a little disappointed it was only my legs, but soon afterward my arms just floated out too. So there I was, arms and legs free, but my torso and head still stuck. So I grabbed my chest with my astral hands and just yanked the rest of me out, so hard I floated to the floor and landed. I remember feeling so excited that I had finally done it, a fully concious projection, I looked back and saw my body (which I usually have trouble with) then decided to go outside and wander around. Unfortunately I was feeling a little "grounded" and I couldn't float or fly or really do anything I couldn't already do in my body. Outside I walked around for a while, then for some reason I "closed" my astral eyes for a little while, then opened them and I was back in my body in bed. But I am still excited that I had that first waking projection and pushed past the stopping point I have had for a year!
