hey all!
i been trying AP for about 2 weeks now, and last night (tuesday 13th) i decided to try whilst lay in bed. i lay there for a little while relaxing with the breath awareness technique. after approx. 10-15 mins (don't know for sure) my eyes were close and could feel myself drifting asleep. the next thing i knew it felt like i was 'trying to' sit up in my bed. there was a loud roaring noise (which i have experienced twice before, both before attempting AP) and it hurt like hell! eventually i managed to...stand? and felt like i was awake but very VERY tired with heavy eyes. it felt asif my eyes were closed, although i could see. i started moving towards my bedroom door, but it was very slow and i had to concentrate extremely hard to do so. i felt i was to the side of my bed whilst moving and decided to check my hand...which turned out not to be there i coulnt bring myself to see if i was lay in my bed. it is a blank after moving away from my bed. the next thing i remember is being in some strange place being chased by a very wide and muscular man and thinking "wait! i'm dreaming!" the 'dream' continued quite boringly with nothing of interest happening. a while later the dream repeated itself and i was in teh same position as the start - being chased by the man. however i knew that i was dreaming, and tried to stop him..which failed and i got shoved 'through' a shed that was behind me..as the 'repeat' ended...i woke up. can anyone shed some light on what this was? i have never projected before so am unsure if it was one. sorry if its hard to make sense of what i've wrote. thanks. Dear Ibzy,
I agree with Aunt Clair. The first part definitely sounds like a projection. But the second part after the 'blank' could be that your awareness shifted to dream state. I remember in one conscious projection I had (am not good at them - they are short lived and rare for me) I managed to get out of the bedroom. It was exhausting getting away from my physical body. The conscious mind 'seems' (in my limited experience) to want to stick with the physical body. I was so consciously and energetically exhausted I sat down on the stairs outside my bedroom and then I blanked. It would not surprise me if the 'blank' was the shift of your conscious mind back to your body and then consciousness rousing a bit later to become aware of your dream state. That is my best guess of it. Very Best Wishes, Violetsky |

Hiya, I agree with everyone else so far but also wanted to chime in that the farther you can get away from your physical body the less fatigued you will be and it will become easier to move.
I have found for myself the faster I get away from my physical body, the easier the projection becomes. The longer I'm close to my body the more energy i tend to use just to maintain projection. It's a mind thing I'm sure but getting away from my physical body really helps me out and then I can enjoy the rest. Cheers! |

Hi there Ibzy,
I would get right out of your house and down the block if you can if I were you... not just out of the room. You will feel a lot more free and it will be easier to move. You won't have the heaviness/weight type feeling. The tired-ness may or may not be improved. That mostly depends on your energy level. I'm not sure if you were "tired" because you were near your physical body or because you were a bit low energy. There's lots of great tips here about improving energy levels if that turns out to be the case. Just my 2c.... Good Luck! |

thanks again skydancer, u seem to be full of useful info lol
think it was due to lack of energy because i only walked about 3 feet and it was over :/ keping it stable seems very strenuous. tried again last night and i managed to get into a much deeper state of relaxation, and i recall the 'roaring' sensation..yet i did not exit maybe it was because i was too tired? both times, however, i havent experienced 'all' of the symptoms, e.g. vibrations. i didnt even use an exit technique, i just concentrated on my breath and it simply happened is this good? |

well i've read all 8 parts of the Astral Dynamics Treatise...that go on about projection. I havent got round to getting the book yet.
the treatise is the only thing (besides some topics on this forum) that i have read about projection/OBE and is all i have to go on. the treatise is all good, but is rather difficult to find specific things, such as keeping the projection stable, encouraging the exit, etc. hence my constant asking of questions. thanks |

The terms you ask about are defined in the book AD .But a search of the archives here at ADF will also glean a lot of information regarding the lexicon used and the different forms of projection .
The etheric body is also called an astral double it appears as a monochrome silhouette rose pink if female and indigo to sapphire if male . The etheric projection is an OBE Out of Body Experience that results from the male tan tien or the hips . The male lying on the back , left side or sitting up will feel vibrations in the legs when drowsy and then feel self lifting out of the physical body . The female will do better to lie on the stomach the right side or lean forward in the chair . The hip area needs to be exposed . The female side is the left and rear . The male side is the front and right . If one practices in meditation to discipline and quiet the mind the added benefit is to be able to see , control and recall the projections over time . The OBE is sought after for a feeling of walking and sensing the environment into which you project ie RTZ Real Time zone and Astral Plane or Etheric Plane . Other forms of projection ie the Mental Body Projection will allow you to project to higher planes but you will not have some of the tactile sensitivities or the heaviness either . In contrast , the sight tends to improve as we ascend to higher planes . So there are advantages to learning to control the various forms of projection . |
