Hello everyone! I just joined and still have yet to introduce myself in the new member board, but I wished to post this first.
First of all, I have been interested in OBE's for years. Two or three. Sometimes I'll become more interested in school and such but recently I've come back to practicing it. I'm pretty impatient, every technique I have read seemed to have failed because I didn't really know any better. The only OBE I ever slightly witnessed was from a dream. It lasted 5 seconds and felt like a dream, I barley remember anything. It was only last night that I finally got to the vibration stage. And boy was my heart thumping, I was too excited to keep the vibrations there. But it was pretty interesting how I got there. You know how people envelope themselves in white light to protect themselves? After relaxation and meditation I felt completly numb and heavy and somehow I sensed, that beyond my dark closed eyelids, my room was extremly bright. I visualized this white light all around me and start to control me, sway me from left to right, pull my astral body, ect. I was at a point where it was hard to think of anything else or move, but at one point I felt myself wander off and I snapped back when I felt myself start to vibrate. I realized what was happening and sat up, unfortionatly. At least it was a nice big step to an OBE. For years, I could barley even get relaxed! I would love it if anyone could give me advice on where to go from there, how to seperate. I saw earlier something about females lying on their stomachs, so I'll try that. (Though that is my comfy position, I worry I'll fall asleep!) But I just wanted to see if what was happening made any sense or not. (: Thank you all. |

There are a lot of exit techniques but I think that the problems most people have are of knowing when to try them. I find that a lot of people try them too soon, move their bodies and break the trance.
So I will give you a pointer: Make sure that you're paralyzed before trying to exit. If you feel vibration, make sure they're exit vibrations, which are different from the vibes you feel when you're practicing NEW, and they are almost always accompanied by rushing or banging or machine-like (like a jackhammer or lawnmower) noises. These are not like the warm tingles you get when practicing NEW. Also, another way to tell is hypnagogics. If you are seeing the dream-images flowing in front of you is a good indication. Now, seeing one, noticing it and then it going away isn't deep enough- you have to be able to hold attention to it, to move within it if possible- then you know you're ready. Then try an exit technique. If you haven't read the tutorials, then I heavily recommend them. |
