Default two partial OOBE's both stalled for the same reason
this morning I went from a hypnagogic state to a lucid dream, to partial exteriorization, with the astral version of my legs sticking out in mid-air. I rationalized that I had only lifted my physical legs (though, physically, I couldn't have done so) and did not believe that I had projected. the exact same event happened before, some time after the time that I picked up my copy of MAP. my lack of belief in having an OOBE tricked me both times even though I have had several classic OOBE projections, only not recently.

I would ask for advise, except that it seems self-evident, to tell myself constantly to believe that I can OOBE and follow through.

It may interest you that many of us have that leg-out first symptom (that's how mine started this morning, for example), so my advice is when that happens just do some quick energy sponging in your legs (brings control to them) and then try an exit technique- if all else fails, roll off- you may find yourself floating. Good luck!

re-edited the above for more clarity. it happened that I went first from a hypnagogic lucid dream state to the partial exterioration. didn't go through with it because I confused the astral legs with the physical ones and hadn't realized tha I could go further. sort of convinced myself out of a full OOBE. twice.
