Default Sleeping Pills, Pain Killers etc Help With OBE's?
I have a real hard time sleeping . I have sleep apnea, as it runs in my fathers side of the family, and I have restless leg syndrome (legs get real itchy inside for some reason and can't get to sleep because I have to keep moving it). If I do get to sleep my leg jerks alot.

To top it all off, I have a problem with my sciatic nerve and my lumbar part of my back. I bought some memory foam to help combat that problem and it helps a little bit.

I've been trying methods in astral dynamics and other brainwave gen presets for a good year. Only a few odd things happened..

Recently I was put on some pain meds for another accident I had. It knocked me out like a light. It was the first long term uninterupted sleep I've had in a long time.

But... in the middle of the night I had my first real close obe. In fact I think I was partially out, and it felt drunk. I described it in another post. I actually heard the "roaring" you get in the ears which I remembered to actually be something I've known all my life. In fact I can induce that exact roaring in the ears by moving my ears and tongue in a certain way will get that rushing noise that I commonly get when I fall asleep.

I didn't get vibes, but I was closer, and I actually heard myself start to snore gently.

3 days later I find out after I start to itch that I was allergic to this pain killer! ♥♥♥♥! So no more attempts using this medication. So I was prescribed something else that didn't kill the pain nor did it help me sleep.

The question is - since this medicine helped me get into such a relaxed state at night, should I attempt to find some other form of sedative or something to help me try again?

All other attempts in a chair, laying down etc for the last year have failed miserably. I get whats called clairaudience too. I hear stuff nonstop. I mean really odd stuff from different languages etc to childrens laughter. I can't block it out when I get deep into relaxation and try energy work..

HELP!

I wouldn't recommend pain pills for OB, because if they make you go in too deep you won't remember your trips.
Being a woman of still reproductive age, I take pain pills once a month- you can bet that's the one week I have no projections (that I remember). Of course, everyone's different, and we all have different reactions to medications, but in my case pain killers also block recall. Also, I'm allergic to valium- but the way I found out is that I would have LSD-like dreams while on it (years ago for a car accident) and later I began to lose time. When I told the DR. he told me I was mildly allergic, took me off of it and all the symptoms went away. So sometimes allergic symptoms can be of the mind-altering type.

Curious about the ear thing- ever since I was little I can move the part of the (inner) ear that connects to the throat, and I also can produce the humming/whooshing noise you described. I can also make clicking noises at will. I have found out not everyone can do this (in fact, you are the first that I have heard about other than me.) When I asked the doctor about this (years ago) he looked at me like I was nuts, so I let it go. Do we have some kind of vestigial muscle that I've never heard about? Have you asked anyone about this? Just curious.

As strange as it sounds, my doctor recommended eating dried apricots for restless legs. I can sympathise with you - restless legs is a real nuisance...I have to get up out of bed a good few times a night and just totter about the house or out in the back yard before I can settle it down. The dried apricots I haven't tried yet because it's relatively recent advice. Are you taking any meds?? I've noticed that alot of anti-depressants and sleeping tablets can bring on/aggravate restless legs?

cftraveller yep you described it exactly!

Its funny how docs don't know stuff like this.

So you think some dreams are astral travel? I've read that but some vivid dreams happen with me when I'm sleeping during the day or late morning about someone or with someone I know who is clearly awake. Makes me wonder if it was just a dream.

I can remember my dreams pretty much every single night. What ticks me off is that I do stuff in my dreams that I wouldn't do in real life.

You ever get tested in your dreams?

Had an odd one with Jesus in it the other night. After we talked he started painting the walls with colors just splashing paint around in streaks with no purpose, and left. SOmeone gave me a blob of paint to use on the wall and I helped fill in the blanks and make the painting more detailed and colorful. It was like he was just starting the path for me.

enoch yes! I'm on 25mg of zoloft.

But, I've remembered these nights of restless legs as a teen. It comes and goes in bouts, but has been the worst the last few years. It almost seems to happen more often when its summer or spring, when there is pollen and mold around, but I am not allergic to anything. Atleast I didn't think I was and found out I was recently to percocet.

Ooh, kind of like mine. I can dislocate my shoulders, fingers and thumb at will, and there is something on my arm which allows the muscle tissue to go inside, once again at will and sometimes if i'm not careful my arm can get stuck. Plus i can also crack my neck and collar/ shoulder area, which i found not everyone can. Although for all this, i can only move my left eyebrow up on it's own. I can do a ton more things but i'd hate to say them now I wouldn't really say that ear thing is weird because i'm kind of 'weird'

Yeah, i also lose the circulation in my legs and it itches alot. Plus i experience alot of spasms in my leg before i lose consciousness. (They keep moving and stop me from sleeping) Very rarely, when i'm at home do i get the maximum of 6 hours sleep and i used to frequently talk and sleepwalk, and lastly i recall waking up outside with the back door locked, which scared me out of my wits, i had to climb through the back window.

Yeah anyone here would be considered odd compared to the rest of society..

Thing is we are probably closer to the truth than most people.
